The actor, 53, has won critical acclaim for his new role in \u2018The Pitt\u2019, but added getting the approval of his mob of esteemed star friends means more to him than any public praise.<\/p>\n
Noah, known for his breakout role as Dr. John Carter on \u2018ER\u2019, plays Dr. Michael \u2018Robby\u2019 Robinavitch in the hit medical drama \u2018The Pitt\u2019, with the star also serving as an executive producer and writer on the series.<\/p>\n
He told TV Guide about the backing behind the scenes he\u2019s experienced from his close-knit group of famous pals: \u201cI have this little support group of actor friends, we\u2019re the eating club called the Character Actor Dining Society \u2014 the CADs, we refer to ourselves.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s made up of a group of actors who I hold in the highest regard and esteem, and I\u2019m honored to be among them when we\u2019re together.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe CADs include an impressive roster of talents, such as Alfred Molina, Bryan Cranston, Steven Weber, Laurence Fishburne, LeVar Burton, Eric McCormack, Jason Alexander and Kevin Pollak. <\/p>\n
\nNoah added: \u201cAnd when they weighed in and were complimentary (about \u2018The Pitt\u2019), I felt that those meant the most to me, because I really do hold them in such higher regard.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nWhile Wyle did not elaborate on the specifics of the CADS\u2019 feedback, his co-star Fiona Dourif, who plays second-year resident Dr. Cassie McKay in \u2018The Pitt\u2019, has shared high praise for his work. <\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cIt was so deeply hard and interesting to watch Noah Wyle do it, who\u2019s just like effortless. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cIt was like watching a champion ice skater twirl around on the ice.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nNoah also admitted returning to a medical drama was not initially his top choice after \u2018ER\u2019, but \u2018The Pitt\u2019 offered him a chance to shine a light on the essential role of first responders in today\u2019s world. <\/p>\n
\nHe previously told People: \u201cIt\u2019s an opportunity to shine the spotlight back on the first responders who really need it right now. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe show offers a vehicle for people to go on a journey and get a new look at what hospitals are like and what healthcare is like these days.\u201d<\/p>\n
