There is no one who wants to watch Jax Taylor<\/strong> <\/a>on season 2 of The Valley<\/em><\/a> than Jax himself.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is really rough. I don\u2019t know who that person is. I look disgusting,\u201d Taylor, 45, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> on Thursday, April 10, at the red carpet premiere for The Valley<\/em> about watching season 2 back. \u201cI give myself the ick just looking at it really.\u201d<\/p>\n

Taylor referred to himself as a \u201cshell of a human being\u201d<\/a> while filming the second season, adding, \u201cI was very disgusted with myself, very emotional and very sad. But again, that was a year ago. I\u2019m in a very different place now.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cI\u2019m healthier. I put on a little weight \u2014 healthy weight. I am really into my fitness and health and trying to take care of my body. I\u2019m trying to make things right with Brittany [Cartwright]<\/strong> and take care of our son.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite public ups and downs<\/a>, Taylor and his estranged wife \u201cput our stuff aside\u201d for Cruz, 3. \u201cWe just want that little boy to thrive. That\u2019s the most important thing. It\u2019s not about her and I, it\u2019s about him,\u201d Taylor continued. \u201cHe\u2019s in school and he\u2019s in speech and occupational therapy. He\u2019s involved in so much. It\u2019s just taking him a little longer. But, you know what? If he wants to live with me for the rest of his life, that\u2019s fine by me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Taylor admitted that he wasn\u2019t always in a good place with Cartwright, 36. \u201cWe talk every day. We\u2019re OK today but God knows what\u2019s gonna happen tomorrow,\u201d he noted. \u201cAnyone going through a divorce goes through this. I don\u2019t know who doesn\u2019t. It\u2019s just a tough thing but we\u2019re gonna be OK.\u201d<\/p>\n

The drama between Cartwright and Taylor has played out as they returned<\/a> to film season 2 of The Valley<\/em>. By the time cameras picked back up in summer 2024, Cartwright and Taylor were going through divorce proceedings, and he subsequently entered a 30-day treatment program to address his mental health struggles.<\/p>\n

Taylor left the in-patient facility in August 2024, with his rep saying in a statement, \u201cJax has spent the last 30 days in treatment and will be heading back home later this week. It\u2019s been an emotional month for him and he\u2019s most looking forward to spending time with his son.\u201d<\/p>\n

More recently, Taylor revealed that he has been battling substance abuse issues<\/a>, including abusing cocaine, for more than two decades.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tCelebrities from Jax Taylor and Demi Lovato have had high highs and low lows in the public eye, even opening up about their struggles with cocaine. \u201cI have substance issues primarily with cocaine,\u201d Taylor revealed in March 2025 during an episode of the \u201cHot Mic\u201d podcast, noting, \u201cIt\u2019s hard to say out loud.\u201d The Valley [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been in and out of using cocaine for awhile. I wouldn\u2019t use it every single day. There would be months I would take off,\u201d he explained to Us<\/em> in a March cover story. \u201cAnd then I would do it like a week here, maybe two times a month or three times a month. It got really bad though. When the divorce started [with my estranged wife Brittany Cartwright], I felt like I was doing it recreationally.\u201d<\/p>\n

Taylor noted he is still working on himself<\/a> every day. \u201cI had all these other issues because I\u2019m masking loneliness,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m masking the texting women by doing drugs and drinking alcohol. I have all these other issues. So it\u2019s a slow process, which is hard for me because I always look for the quick fix. This is one of those things in life that it\u2019s not a quick fix. You have to work at it. I\u2019m not used to that.\u201d<\/p>\n
