\t\t<\/p>\n Liam Payne<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s friend is no longer suing his father, Geoff Payne<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n Roger Nores<\/strong>, who was acquitted of an involuntary manslaughter charge in the investigation of the One Direction<\/strong><\/a> star\u2019s passing, asked the court to voluntarily dismiss the lawsuit Wednesday (April 8), via Rolling Stone<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n In his original filing, he alleged that Geoff<\/strong> made false and defamatory statements about him in sworn declarations to an Argentine prosecutor investigating Liam<\/strong>\u2019s passing, claiming damages of over $10 million.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n He told Rolling Stone<\/em> at the time that Geoff<\/strong> \u201cneed[ed] to backtrack on his statements.\u201d<\/p>\n In an email sent to Richard Bray<\/strong>, Liam<\/strong>\u2019s estate attorney, the friend now writes that Geoff<\/strong> \u201cdoesn\u2019t need to apologize.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ll always remember when [Geoff<\/strong>] came to me the first night at the ranch after I had picked them up at the airport, how he asked me to promise I would never give up on Liam<\/strong>, no matter what,\u201d he wrote, via Rolling Stone<\/em>. \u201cI kept that promise right until the end, and it was pretty hard.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIn spite of how everything turned out and Geoff <\/strong>saying in his statement to the police [that] \u2018this is all Roger<\/strong>\u2019s responsibility,\u2019 I would have done this 100 times over because I loved Liam<\/strong> with all my heart and I miss him everyday.\u201d<\/p>\n Liam<\/strong> passed away in mid-October 2024 after falling from the balcony of a third floor room the CasaSur Palermo hotel in Argentina.<\/p>\n Kate Cassidy<\/strong><\/a> just recently shared a few happy memories with her late boyfriend Liam Payne<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n
