Max\u2019s The Pitt<\/a> <\/i>will return for a season 2 \u2014 with a special twist.<\/p>\n During an appearance at Deadline<\/i><\/a>\u2019s \u201cContenders TV\u201d panel on Saturday, April 5, executive producer R. Scott Gemmill<\/strong> revealed that season 2 of the hit Max series will all take place over the Fourth of July weekend.<\/p>\n The Pitt<\/i> is Max\u2019s latest medical drama set in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, starring Noah Wyle, Patrick Ball, Taylor Dearden, Katherine LaNasa, Isa Briones<\/strong> and more. It\u2019s been lauded for its realistic portrayal of doctors, nurses and staff working in the intense environment that is a hospital emergency room. The second season<\/a>, according to Gemmill, will pick up 10 months after the season 1 finale.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re calling all pros,\u201d Wyle, 53, added on Saturday. \u201cWe want people who are good with props and who are used to working in a company, with an ensemble. We want creativity. We want passion. We don\u2019t want ego coming to play. We have tremendous people showing up excited.\u201d<\/p>\n Wyle further gushed about working alongside background actors on The Pitt<\/i>.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s no differentiation between the foreground and the background crew,\u201d Wyle said. \u201cWe are all the company, and we are all going to have a very immersive experience. It\u2019s a very atypical way of working, and hopefully, they\u2019ll come away with something very special.\u201d<\/p>\n The main actors also put in their best efforts to play doctors.<\/p>\n \u201cThe 10 of us doctors all got medical boot camp for two weeks before we started filming, which was so helpful,\u201d Briones, 26, exclusively told Us Weekly <\/i><\/a>in February of portraying Dr. Trinity Santos. \u201cOn set, we always have [technical advisor] Dr. Joe Sachs \u2014 he\u2019s there all the time.\u201d<\/p>\n According to Briones, the cast works with a \u201croster\u201d of real-life physicians to ensure each story line is handled accurately.<\/p>\n \u201cSo a different doctor is assigned to every episode and they handle choreographing all of the big trauma scenes \u2014 anything that involves medical choreography,\u201d Briones explained to Us<\/i>. \u201cBut the boot camp was so helpful because it\u2019s not like they can teach us how to be a doctor in two weeks, obviously. But it gave us the tools and gave us the language of the right questions to ask when we are actually choreographing something like that.\u201d<\/p>\n The end of The Pitt <\/i>season 1 also saw the shocking return of Dr. Frank Langdon (Ball), who was told to leave mid-shift after it was revealed that he was stealing opioids from patients for personal use.<\/p>\n
