The late Val Kilmer<\/strong><\/a> was a reality TV fan just like the rest of Us<\/em>.<\/p>\n Kilmer got into the hit reality TV show The Amazing Race<\/em> through his former roommate, actor and comedian Will Forte. After Kilmer\u2019s death on Tuesday, April 1, Forte shared the story behind their almost-appearance on the series with Vulture<\/em><\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cI used to watch The Amazing Race<\/em>, and he came back home at some point when I was watching it and was like, \u2018What are you watching that garbage for? Come on, that stuff\u2019s going to rot your mind,\u2019\u201d Forte told the outlet.<\/p>\n \u201cI said, \u2018It\u2019s pretty good. You should sit down and watch it. Give it a try before you s*** on it,\u2019\u201d he continued. \u201cSo he sat down and he started watching it, and he got really into it. Then, at a certain point, he said, \u2018Will, you and I have to go do The Amazing Race<\/em>. We have to. Let\u2019s do The Amazing Race<\/em>.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Forte was completely open to the idea, explaining: \u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018I am so fully in.\u2019 We got really excited about it, and then we called our respective agents and managers, and they were like, \u2018There\u2019s no way you guys are doing that.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n The actor added that he still wishes the pair could have made it happen. \u201cThat is, maybe to this day, the biggest regret of my whole career \u2014 that I never did The Amazing Race<\/em> with Val. I think we would\u2019ve gotten out very quickly, but it just would\u2019ve been the experience of a lifetime.\u201d<\/p>\n
