Following the 2023 reports, Brand was dropped by his management<\/a>, who said that they were \u201chorribly misled by him\u201d when he had denied wrongdoing. He was greeted with a standing ovation<\/a>.<\/p>\n Brand was married to singer Katy Perry<\/strong> for 14 months from 2010 to 2011, informing her in a moment captured in her 2012 documentary Part of Me<\/em> by text message on New Year\u2019s Eve that he was filing for divorce, immediately before she took the stage for a scheduled performance. It was after this that Brand pivoted from his Hollywood career to right-leaning political commentary, wellness, and religion.<\/p>\n In April 2024, he was baptized<\/a> in the River Thames and said he immediately felt \u201cchanged, a sort of transformation.\u201d The sacrament appeared to be overseen by TV survivalist Bear Grylls<\/strong>, shown in an Instagram photo<\/a> that Brand captioned, \u201cMe, Bear Grylls, The River Thames and of course, The Holy Spirit.\u201d In February 2025, Jesus People Movement\u2019s Sean Feucht<\/strong> announced<\/a> that he and Brand were planning a \u201cmass baptism revival event in Florida in May.\u201d<\/p>\n Brand publicly supported Donald Trump<\/strong>\u2019s 2024 presidential campaign, and celebrated on social media<\/a> when he won. In February, he was among a crowd of celebrities reportedly invited<\/a> to a President\u2019s Day celebration at Trump\u2019s Mar-a-Lago.
