Kaitlyn Bristowe<\/b><\/a> opened up about the issues in her romance with ex-fianc\u00e9 <\/span>Jason Tartick<\/b><\/a>, revealing that finances created major issues in their relationship.<\/p>\n \u201cAlthough my house was paid off, I would have to go to him on the first of every month being like, \u2018Can you split bills?\u2019\u201d Kaitlyn, 39, claimed about Jason, 36, during the Thursday, April 3, episode of her \u201cOff the Vine\u201d podcast<\/a>, adding that she felt \u201cvery used\u201d when it came to finances.<\/p>\n She said that it made her \u201cfeel cheap,\u201d especially since they both had \u201cvery similar income.\u201d She continued, \u201cI felt like he was riding a wave.\u201d<\/p>\n Kaitlyn went on to claim that Jason was leveraging their relationship in order to advance his career. \u201cAnd I\u2019m not saying he didn\u2019t love me because I think he did, also unsure, but it felt like [he was] riding coattails, riding a wave, [to get to] where he wanted to get to,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n The former Bachelorette<\/em> star began dating Jason in 2019, and they got engaged in May 2021. Despite appearing to have a strong relationship, Jason and Kaitlyn announced their split<\/a> in August 2023.<\/p>\n \u201cContinuing our friendship is incredibly important to both of us,\u201d they wrote in a joint statement at the time. \u201cWe feel grateful to be ending our engagement with love and respect for each other. It\u2019s heartbreaking and sad to say goodbye, but our care and admiration for one another will never die.\u201d<\/p>\n Both Jason and Kaitlyn have been open about the struggles they faced in their relationship following their split. In fact, Jason previously hinted that money was a problem for the pair<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cWith the chaotic year of learning how to navigate the Wild West of reality TV<\/span><\/a> and social media just behind me, the excitement of my new romance, and the gut punch of the unexpected loss of my job, I neglected to look at life\u2019s balance sheet,\u201d Jason wrote in his April 2024 book, <\/span>Talk Money to Me: The 8 Essential Financial Questions to Discuss With Your Partner<\/span><\/i>. \u201cPrior to June 2019, before we moved in together, my ex and I never had a candid conversation about money. I never told her the important numbers that defined my financial health, and <\/span>she didn\u2019t tell me hers<\/span><\/a>. Hell, I didn\u2019t even ask.\u201d<\/p>\n Meanwhile, the Canada native continued to drop even more bombshells about their issues during her recent podcast episode.<\/p>\n
