\t\t<\/p>\n Russell Brand<\/strong><\/a> is facing more legal troubles.<\/p>\n On Friday morning (April 4), London\u2019s Metropolitan Police charged the 49-year-old actor and comedian with one count of rape, one count of indecent assault, one count of oral rape and two counts of sexual assault, according to a news release<\/a>.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span>The charges, which are related to four separate women, come following an investigation by detectives that began in 2023.<\/p>\n It is being alleged that Brand<\/strong> \u201craped a woman in Bournemouth in 1999, indecently assaulted a woman in 2001 in Westminster, London, orally raped and sexually assaulted a woman in Westminster in 2004, and between 2004 and 2005 sexually assaulted a woman, also in Westminster,\u201d according to Deadline<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cThe women who have made reports continue to receive support from specially trained officers,\u201d Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy<\/strong> shared in a statement. \u201cThe Met\u2019s investigation remains open and detectives ask anyone who has been affected by this case, or anyone who has any information, to come forward and speak with police. A dedicated team of investigators is available via email at [email\u00a0protected]<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n Police said they have \u201cissued a charge and requisition\u201d to Brand<\/strong>, whose residence is listed as Oxfordshire, South England, though he was being working and living in the United States for the past several years.<\/p>\n He could be detained by U.S. police under an international arrest warrant and The Home Office would have to submit a formal extradition request to Washington, DC on behalf of the CPS to seek his return to Britain to stand trial.<\/p>\n Brand<\/strong>, who has not publicly addressed the charges yet, is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates\u2019 Court in London on May 2. <\/p>\n The new charges come after Russell Brand<\/strong> was accused of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse<\/a> by four women in September 2023. He was sued by another woman<\/a> a few months later. <\/p>\n
