Bruce Springsteen<\/a> has announced the release of a collection of seven previously unheard albums. Spanning music recorded between 1983 and 2018, Bruce, 74, has said he wants to move from playing it privately to friends and family to sharing it with fans.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n

He said in a statement: \u201c\u2018The Lost Albums\u2019 were full records, some of them even to the point of being mixed and not released. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve played this music to myself and often close friends for years now. I\u2019m glad you\u2019ll get a chance to finally hear them. I hope you enjoy them.\u201d<\/p>\n
The collection, titled \u2018Tracks II: The Lost Albums\u2019, will be released on 27 June via Sony Music. <\/p>\n
According to a press release, the albums \u201cfill in rich chapters of Springsteen\u2019s expansive career timeline \u2013 while offering invaluable insight into his life and work as an artist\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAmong the recordings is \u2018LA Garage Sessions \u201983\u2019, described as a \u201ccrucial link\u201d between 1982\u2019s \u2018Nebraska\u2019 and 1984\u2019s \u2018Born in the U.S.A\u2019. <\/p>\n
\nThe album features a \u201clo-fi exploration\u201d of music recorded during that period, echoing the drum loops and synth sounds heard in \u2018Streets of Philadelphia Sessions\u2019.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe ability to record at home whenever I wanted allowed me to go into a wide variety of different musical directions,\u201d Bruce added about the collection.<\/p>\n
\nOther projects in the set include \u2018Faithless\u2019, a soundtrack recorded for a film that was never made, and \u2018Inyo\u2019, an LP described as containing \u201crichly woven border tales\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nAlso included is \u2018Twilight Hours\u2019, described as an \u201corchestra-driven, mid-century noir\u201d project.<\/p>\n
\nBruce has shared a preview of the 83-song collection with the track \u2018Rain in the River\u2019, taken from the previously unreleased album \u2018Perfect World\u2019. <\/p>\n
\nThe track has been described as capturing the “arena-ready E Street flavor\u201d.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cLast night, I put on my jacket and I went for a ride \/ Smelled sweet mustard fields, and my Colt at my side \/ Like rain in the river \/ Rain in the river,” he sings on the track.<\/p>\n
\nBruce\u2019s last studio album, \u2018Only the Strong Survive\u2019, was released in 2022. <\/p>\n
\nThe record featured covers of classics by artists including the Four Tops, the Supremes, Frankie Wilson, the Temptations, and Jimmy Ruffin.<\/p>\n
