The annual Met Gala<\/a> brings some of the strangest fashion to ever grace the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. While some of them are stunning, others don\u2019t quite hit the mark with their fabrics, patterns and overall styles.<\/p>\n Ever year,\u00a0Vogue<\/em>\u2019s\u00a0Anna Wintour<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Tom Ford<\/strong>\u00a0appear as honor co-chairs at the high-profile event. Although he is always eager to observe the newest looks, Tom publicly disagreed with some celebrities\u2019 outfit choices from previous years.<\/p>\n Ahead of the 2022 event, the designer criticized the evolution of fashion\u2019s biggest night in an interview with\u00a0Time<\/em>\u00a0that April. Though his statement didn\u2019t include names, Tom seemingly called out singer\u00a0Katy Perry<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for her past fashion choices. She had dressed up as a stunning chandelier at the 2019 event, then wore a hilarious hamburger costume at an afterparty, which looked similar to the one she wore in\u00a0Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s music video for \u201cYou Need To Calm Down.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe only thing about the Met I wish hadn\u2019t happened is that it\u2019s turned into a costume party,\u201d he said. \u201cYou didn\u2019t have to look like the 18th century, you didn\u2019t have to dress like a hamburger, you didn\u2019t have to arrive in a van where you were standing up because you couldn\u2019t sit down because you wore a chandelier. It\u2019s turned into a costume party.\u201d<\/p>\n He also reflected on how the evening \u201cused to just be very chic people wearing very beautiful clothes going to an exhibition about the 18th century,\u201d<\/p>\n Despite Tom\u2019s remarks, the \u201cWide Awake\u201d artist explained<\/a> to\u00a0Page Six<\/em><\/a>\u00a0that month how she was planning something different for her 2022 Met Gala<\/a> ensemble.<\/p>\n \u201cYou know, it would be pretty obvious for me to go play the kooky, crazy, wild, big, fun, colorful card,\u201d the\u00a0American Idol\u00a0<\/em>judge said. \u201cThis time, I\u2019m going to play a different card.\u201d<\/p>\n Aside from Katy, other Hollywood stars have rolled up to the A-list event wearing some pretty questionable attire. Rapper Kanye \u201cYe\u201d West<\/strong> <\/a>certainly turned heads at the 2016 Met Gala, not just for his bedazzled jacket and jeans look, though. Critics thought the \u201cPraise God\u201d artist took it a bit too far by wearing colored contact lenses in order to match his outfit.<\/p>\n
