The TV host, who was placed under guardianship in 2022, has been vocal about the restrictions she faces and has questioned the decision to keep her in a legal situation she believes has lasted too long.<\/p>\n
As protests took place outside her assisted living facility in New York City and Los Angeles on Tuesday (01.04.25) Wendy spoke to People about her situation \u2013 expressing her gratitude for the support from her followers.<\/p>\n
She said: \u201cIt feels very good to see the support of my fans up close.\u201d <\/p>\n
Wendy made the comment while waving from her window inside her facility, adding: \u201cThey have posters and t-shirts. I love nothing better than to stop and pose.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWhy am I still a ward? It\u2019s been too damn long.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nWendy added her accommodation in a \u201cmemory unit\u201d was a \u201cf****** dump\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nShe also expressed frustration over her confinement, stating: \u201cI need you know everything I do, I do right here in this bedroom, you know, in this bed.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe #FreeWendy movement has gained traction since Wendy was placed under guardianship, with fans pushing for her release. <\/p>\n
\nWendy added about her chances of regaining her freedom: \u201cIt will absolutely 1,000 per cent happen. \u201cWhen I get out of the situation, I\u2019m staying in New York where I\u2019m comfortable. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cI can\u2019t wait to fall in love.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nShe also slammed the media narratives about her, stating if anyone else is speaking on her behalf, it\u2019s \u201cstupid bulls***\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nWendy has been open about her difficult living conditions. <\/p>\n
\nIn a February interview, she revealed she was living in the \u201cmemory unit\u201d \u2013 a place for individuals with memory loss. <\/p>\n
\nShe described it as \u201cvery suffocating\u201d and \u201cvery lonely\u201d. <\/p>\n
\nDespite claims from her guardianship she is cognitively impaired, Wendy insists she is not incapacitated. <\/p>\n
\nShe has declared: \u201cI feel fantastic. I\u2019m not incapacitated.\u201d<\/p>\n
