Here\u2019s a sequel no one saw coming: a follow-up to Quentin Tarantino<\/strong>\u2019s Once Upon a Time\u2026 in Hollywood<\/em>.<\/p>\n According to reports,<\/a> David Fincher<\/strong> is set to direct this time around, from a script written by Tarantino, and Brad Pitt<\/strong> will reprise his role as the colorful stunt double Cliff Booth<\/strong>. And, in another twist, the project is being set up at Netflix, where Fincher has a first-look deal.<\/p>\n According to Deadline<\/a>, Pitt, who is good friends with Fincher and worked with him on Se7en, Fight Club,<\/em> and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,<\/em> got Tarantino\u2019s blessing to show Fincher the script. For now, details about the script\u2014and how much of a sequel it actually is\u2014are being kept under wraps. It\u2019s also unclear if Leonardo DiCaprio<\/strong> will reprise his role as fading star Rick Dalton for this new project.<\/p>\n It makes sense that Pitt would want to slip back into Cliff Booth\u2019s Hawaiian shirt. He earned critical acclaim and won the Oscar for supporting actor for the role. The 2019 film, set in the 1960s and presenting a fictionalized take on Hollywood at the time of the Tate murders, earned $392.1 million worldwide. The first movie ended in a violent, fiery conclusion when Dalton and Booth teamed up to kill off the Tate murderers with a flamethrower. Booth is a fictional character so his story could go anywhere from there.<\/p>\n If it comes together, this would be the first time that Tarantino has not directed one of his own scripts.
