Morgan Wallen<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s quick exit from Saturday Night Live<\/em><\/a> is already getting the meme treatment from one of the show\u2019s writers.<\/p>\n

Wallen, 31, made headlines following his Saturday, March 29, appearance on the NBC sketch comedy show after abruptly walking off the stage<\/a> during the ending credits. The country singer later took to Instagram and posted a photo of an airplane.<\/p>\n

\u201cGet me to God\u2019s country,\u201d Wallen captioned the photo.<\/p>\n

SNL<\/em> writer Josh Patten<\/strong> shared an Instagram Story of his own on Sunday, March 30, which appeared to poke fun at the situation.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tMorgan Wallen has become the bad boy of country music after facing a series of scandals throughout his career. The \u201cWhiskey Glasses\u201d singer got his start on season 6 of The Voice in 2014, where he was a member of Adam Levine\u2019s team but got knocked out during the playoffs. Patten posted a photo of a Krispy Kreme box truck in New York City alongside a caption that read, \u201cGet me to God\u2019s country,\u201d referencing Wallen\u2019s social media post from the night before.<\/p>\n

However, Patten appeared to deny throwing any shade, uploading a screenshot of his 2023 Apple Music Replay which featured four Wallen songs in the top five spots on the playlist. In another Instagram Story, he added an emoji rolling its eyes alongside a comment that read, \u201cGuessing Patten\u2019s not a Morgan Wallen fan?\u201d<\/p>\n

Wallen was the musical guest on Saturday\u2019s episode and performed two songs from his upcoming fourth album \u2014 \u201cI\u2019m the Problem\u201d and \u201cJust in Case\u201d \u2014 which is set to be released on May 16. He didn\u2019t appear in any sketches alongside host Mikey Madison<\/strong>, but he did give the Anora<\/em><\/a> star a hug before bolting off stage.<\/p>\n

While some viewers speculated there may have been drama behind-the-scenes, no SNL<\/em> cast members have spoken about working with Wallen or addressed his departure.<\/p>\n

Wallen\u2019s bumpy relationship with SNL<\/em> began during the Covid pandemic. In October 2020, Wallen was uninvited as the show\u2019s musical guest<\/a> after he was spotted breaking Covid protocols by partying in an Alabama bar one week earlier.<\/p>\n
