The \u201cLavender Haze\u201d singer, 33, sings with Matt Berninger<\/strong> on \u201cThe Alcott,\u201d<\/a> which dropped on Friday, April 28, as part of the band\u2019s ninth record, First Two Pages of Frankenstein<\/em>. The ballad paints a picture of two former lovers reflecting on the end of a relationship<\/a> in a similar fashion to Swift\u2019s \u201cConey Island.\u201d (Berninger, 52, also appears on the 2020 Evermore<\/em><\/a> track.)<\/p>\n

Swift has been a longtime fan<\/a> of the rock band, which consists of Berninger and brothers Aaron Dessner<\/strong> and Bryce Dessner<\/strong>, as well as brothers Scott Devendorf<\/strong> and Bryan Devendorf<\/strong>. Aaron, 47, previously collaborated with the Pennsylvania native on her albums Folklore<\/em><\/a>, Evermore<\/em><\/a> and Midnights<\/em><\/a>, and recently made a surprise appearance<\/a> to perform with Swift on her Eras Tour<\/em> in Florida.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Alcott\u201d is one of the first bits of new music<\/a> fans have heard from Swift following her split from Alwyn, 32. Us Weekly<\/em> confirmed earlier this month that the couple called it quits<\/a> after six years together, with a source exclusively revealing that \u201cfame factored into\u201d the breakup<\/a>.<\/p>\n
