30 March 2025<\/time>\n <\/p>\nNatasha Rothwell says her dogs are an \u201cincredibly grounding\u201d influence in her life.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nNatasha Rothwell is brought down to earth by her dogs<\/p>\n\nThe \u2018White Lotus\u2019 actress tries not to let her professional success \u201cdictate [her] worth\u201d and admitted her pets always bring her back to reality.<\/p>\n\nShe told Stylist magazine: \u201cI think it\u2019s a slippery slope when you hang your personal value on your professional accomplishments, particularly when you do something creative for a living.<\/p>\n\n\u201cIt\u2019s hard to walk that line of something that makes you feel complete as a person but also not letting it dictate your worth.<\/p>\n\n\u201cI have two dogs and they\u2019re incredibly grounding. They don\u2019t care what red carpet I\u2019ve been on, they\u2019re like, \u2018Rub my belly. Pick up my s***.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\u201cI\u2019m constantly trying to find ways to normalise my life; volunteering at the downtown women\u2019s centre and I love crosswording.\u201d<\/p>\n\nThe former \u2018Insecure\u2019 actress was diagnosed with ADHD last year and admitted it has been both \u201clife-changing\u201d and \u201centirely empowering\u201d, though she feels some \u201csadness\u201d at not having had support with things she found difficult when she was younger.<\/p>\n\nShe said: \u201cMy therapist and psychiatrist both suggested it and I resisted, but last year I saw a neurologist, went through the nine-hour battery of tests and got the official diagnosis.<\/p>\n\n\u201cIt was life-changing, and entirely empowering.<\/p>\n\n“My resistance wasn\u2019t for the label, but it required looking at my life and recognising all the help I didn\u2019t get because I didn\u2019t know and that was a sadness.<\/p>\n\n\u201cI didn\u2019t want to think that things could have been easier had I known when I was younger.\u201d<\/p>\n\nThe 44-year-old star has gone through \u201cradical self-acceptance\u201d as a result of her diagnosis.<\/p>\n\nShe said: \u201cThere\u2019s so much masking that happens when you\u2019re neuro spicy because you\u2019re trying to be normal in front of other people and now that I know it\u2019s part of who I am, it\u2019s radical self-acceptance; that this is me.<\/p>\n\n\u201cI don\u2019t like crowds, I don\u2019t like loud rooms, I love dopamine, my brain works very quickly and my short-term memory is s***.<\/p>\n\n\u201cThere are all these things I no longer apologise for.<\/p>\n\n\u201cGetting a diagnosis was permission to use the language to announce who I am to people and not change who I am \u2013 to own it as a source of pride instead of being ashamed.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n\n<\/p>\n \n <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\nSource link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"30 March 2025 Natasha Rothwell says her dogs are an \u201cincredibly grounding\u201d influence in her life.
