The \u201827 Dresses\u2019\u00a0actress is involved in a legal dispute with a dog rescue organisation, and shared the news she had added to her collection of animals in an Instagram video titled \u2018Exciting News!\u2019. <\/p>\n

She introduced her new puppies to fans in the clip by stating: \u00e6We adopted three new babies.\u201d <\/p>\n

Katherine added: \u201cOne of them is supposed to go to my mother, but, um, I don\u2019t know if she\u2019s going to be able to get her away from me.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress, also known for her role in \u2018Grey\u2019s Anatomy\u2019, also revealed the names of the new additions to her home, adding: \u201cThe black and white one is a boy, we named him Liam Neeson<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\u2018’And then that little black one with the curly hair \u2013 we\u2019re thinking of Maeve Myrtle, but I\u2019m still thinking on that one.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nThe third puppy, which Katherine said was a \u201csilly little black one\u201d, has been named Clara Rose, in honour of Katherine\u2019s mother\u2019s aunt.\u200b<\/p>\n

\nIn the video, the puppies were seen playing on a rug with Katherine\u2019s other dogs. <\/p>\n

\nShe added about their spirited nature: \u201cLiam Neeson is certainly taking after his namesake \u2014 very fierce.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nBeyond her role as a pet owner, Katherine is deeply involved in animal advocacy. <\/p>\n

\nIn 2022, she launched Badlands Ranch, a line of health-focused dog food. <\/p>\n

\nShe explained the brand’s mission by saying after its launch: \u201cI want to include as much healthy healing nutrition as possible.\u201d <\/p>\n

\nThe formula is designed to support brain and immune function, focusing on high protein content to ensure pets receive optimal nutrition.\u200b<\/p>\n

\nKatherine co-founded the Jason Heigl Foundation (JHF) with her mother, Nancy Heigl. <\/p>\n

\nThe organisation is dedicated to pet education, adoption and health programs aimed at combating widespread pet mistreatment. <\/p>\n

\nProceeds from Badlands Ranch support the foundation\u2019s initiatives. <\/p>\n

\nBut recent developments have cast a shadow over her animal kindness efforts. <\/p>\n

\nOn March 5, Katherine and her mother filed a defamation lawsuit against The Pitty Committee (TPC), a Santa Monica-based dog rescue organisation, and its owner, Alyssa Deetman. <\/p>\n

\nThe lawsuit alleges Alyssa spread false information about JHF, mismanaged funds and failed to fulfill contractual obligations.<\/p>\n
