A royal mix-up! Prince William<\/strong><\/a> kindly corrected a young boy who mistakenly declared the Prince of Wales was the king of England.<\/p>\n William, 40, and wife Princess Kate<\/strong><\/a> were visiting the Dowlais Rugby Club in Wales on Thursday, April 27 \u2014 handing out pizzas to the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team and their families \u2014 when the prince sat next to a child who eagerly proclaimed him to be the monarch.<\/p>\n \u201cYou\u2019re the king!\u201d the young boy announced<\/a> as William took a seat next to him in the booth.<\/p>\n \u200b**The prince replied, \u201cNo, I\u2019m not \u2014 not me!\u201d before explaining, \u201cMy father is.\u201d William is first in line to the throne, followed by son Prince George<\/a>, 9. William\u2019s father, King Charles III<\/strong><\/a>, immediately ascended the throne upon Queen Elizabeth II<\/a>\u2019s death at age 96 in September 2022, and will be honored with an official coronation next month.<\/p>\n Prince William\u2019s sweet moment with the child is reminiscent of the time his estranged brother, Prince Harry<\/strong><\/a>, was once asked by a young boy if he would ever be king.<\/p>\n In 2016, the Duke of Sussex, 38, was taking part in the Sky Sports series Game Changers when a 9-year-old boy posed the important query.<\/p>\n \u201cAre you ever going to be king?\u201d the student asked Harry \u2014 who is currently fifth in line to the throne, behind William, George, and William and Kate\u2019s younger children, Princess Charlotte<\/a>, 7, and Prince Louis<\/a>, 5 \u2014 laughed out loud.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s the question everybody wanted \u2014 let\u2019s be honest,\u201d the Archewell cofounder joked at the time. \u201cYou\u2019ll be glad to know, probably not!\u201d<\/p>\n Four years later, Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 whom he wed in May 2018 \u2014 stepped down from their duties as senior royals. The couple left the U.K. for California, where they are raising son Archie<\/a>, 3, and daughter Lilibet<\/a>, 22 months.<\/p>\n Since making their departure in 2020, the Sussexes have been at odds with the royal family. The tension has only grown worse over the past year, which saw the duo speak out against The Firm in their December 2022 Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan<\/em>, as well as in Harry\u2019s tell-all memoir, Spare<\/em><\/a>, which was released in January.<\/p>\n Despite the drama, Harry is headed to London to celebrate his father\u2019s coronation next month. Meghan, 41, will stay home in California with Archie and Lili<\/a>, Buckingham Palace announced earlier this month.
