\t\t<\/p>\n Zendaya<\/strong><\/a> is taking on an iconic role.<\/p>\n The 28-year-old Euphoria<\/em><\/strong><\/a> star will play iconic Ronettes <\/strong>co-founder Ronnie Spector<\/strong><\/a> in an A24<\/strong><\/a> biopic for director Barry Jenkins<\/strong><\/a>, called Be My Baby<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n Bones and All<\/em> writer David Kajganich<\/strong> will write the original screenplay, via TheWrap<\/a>.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Zendaya<\/strong> will also co-produce.<\/p>\n Before her passing in early 2022<\/a>, Ronnie<\/strong> was an executive producer on the film and hand-selected Zendaya <\/strong>to play her, per the report.<\/p>\n Ronnie<\/strong> co-founded The Ronettes<\/strong> in the late 1950s, and they delivered timeless hits like \u201cBe My Baby\u201d and \u201c(The Best Part of) Breakin\u2019 Up.\u201d She married music producer Phil Spector<\/strong><\/a> in 1968 before their 1974 divorce, and described \u201cpsychological torment\u201d throughout the relationship in her 1990 memoir.<\/p>\n The director previously won the Best Picture Oscar with A24 for his film Moonlight<\/em>.
