Eva Longoria has recalled her route to Hollywood<\/p>\n
The 50-year-old actress has revealed that she didn’t look anything like her sisters as a child and she was never considered to be “the pretty one” in her family.<\/p>\n
Eva – who was the youngest of four daughters – said on ‘TODAY’: “I was performative in my family because I was the ugly duckling. Documentation is available if you need it.<\/p>\n
“My three sisters look alike. They are all blonde. I knew I wasn\u2019t the pretty one and I was like, \u2018OK, I\u2019m not the pretty one so I\u2019m going to be the funny one. I\u2019m going to be the smart one.'”<\/p>\n
Eva studied kinesiology at a university in Texas, but she eventually found her way to Hollywood.<\/p>\n
\nThe brunette beauty explained: “I land in Hollywood and I don\u2019t know what happened. I just was like, \u2018I think I\u2019m going to be an actor.'”<\/p>\n
\nEva starred on ‘The Young and the Restless’, the daytime soap opera, between 2001 and 2003. But she found international stardom in 2004, when she joined the cast of ‘Desperate Housewives’, the hit comedy-drama series.<\/p>\n
\nEva – who played the part of Gabrielle Solis on the ABC series – shared: “By the time I got ‘Desperate Housewives’, I remember when it aired, and I was like, \u2018Mom, you gotta watch, it\u2019s called ‘Desperate Housewives’.’<\/p>\n
\n“She watches and she calls me afterwards. She goes, \u2018Honey you were in it a lot.\u2019 I go, \u2018Yeah mom, I\u2019m one of the stars.\u2019 And she goes, \u2018Are you going to be in it next week?\u2019 [I go], \u2018Mom I\u2019m going to be on every week.\u2019 It was a big adjustment for everybody around me, but not me.”<\/p>\n
