Carrie Underwood<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s American Idol<\/em><\/a> journey has come full circle.<\/p>\n

Fans first met Underwood when she auditioned for season 4<\/a> of the singing competition. Following her 2005 victory, Underwood went on to become one of the biggest names in the country music world, and she returned to Idol<\/em> several times throughout the years.<\/p>\n

In 2024, Underwood was offered a more permanent position, replacing Katy Perry<\/strong> as a judge alongside Luke Bryan<\/strong> and Lionel Richie<\/strong> for season 23. \u201cI went from nobody knowing my name to tens of millions of people watching the show,\u201d she said in an announcement video at the time. \u201cI\u2019m proud of everything that I was able to accomplish on the show and I\u2019m so proud of everything I\u2019ve accomplished since.\u201d<\/p>\n

Underwood later shed light on her style of constructive criticism, revealing in a radio interview<\/a> that she hoped to \u201cbe honest\u201d during the audition process \u201cbut still kind\u201d to those hoping to earn their big breaks. \u201cYou\u2019re part of somebody\u2019s story from that moment on,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tFOX ABC has confirmed that Carrie Underwood will replace Katy Perry on the American Idol judging panel for season 23, and Us is feeling nostalgic for the country singer\u2019s 2005 winning season. Underwood, now 41, was 21 when she auditioned for season 4 of American Idol in St. Louis. She wore a pink scoop-neck shirt [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

When season 23 premiered, Underwood gushed that competing on Idol<\/em> \u201cchanged\u201d her life. \u201cNow, I have the privilege of helping a new generation of artists change theirs,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Many members of that new generation made their love for Underwood known before heading into the audition room \u2014 and some even tried their hand at singing the country star\u2019s biggest hits.<\/p>\n
