<\/noscript>Appearing this week on the Feel in the Blank podcast, Iyanna McNeely said for the first time in public that her ex-husband, Jarrette Jones, cheated on her.<\/p>\n
As a quick refresher:<\/p>\n
In September, Netflix aired an After the Altar special that featured the couple struggling in their marriage\u2026 yet eventually coming together to work things out. <\/p>\n
At the time, the cause for the tension was portrayed simply as a difference lifestyles. <\/p>\n
However, McNeely has now come forward with the alleged truth.<\/p>\n\u201cJarrette cheated. I found out three days before After the Altar. I received an email with very specific details,\u201d Iyanna said on this podcast, hinting that she actually heard from the other woman.<\/p>\n
Yes, she wanted to immediately filed for divorce.<\/p>\n
But she was then convinced to fight for the relationship.<\/p>\n
\u201cImmediately I was like, \u2018I want a divorce. I want a divorce.\u2019 And my mom was like, \u2018Iyanna, you\u2019re making a decision on anger,\u2019 and I realized she\u2019s right,\u201d the former reality star explained. <\/p>\n
\u201cI couldn\u2019t do that, it\u2019s a marriage.\u201d<\/p>\nAlthough she appeared on After the Altar, McNeely said that shooting so soon after the alleged cheating revelation was challenging for her.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was so much for me to still film after that and pretend as if, not pretend as if everything was okay, but I just couldn\u2019t talk about it,\u201d she said on air.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think we both were [pretending]. Jarrette was unhappy too. I was unhappy, Jarrette was unhappy. It was a terrible fit. He wasn\u2019t ready, and I guess to an extent I wasn\u2019t either. <\/p>\n
\u201cHowever, I would have been a good wife to someone who has a good partner to me.\u201d<\/p>\nWhy is McNeely making this accusation now?<\/p>\n
She said that the airing of a new Love Is Blind season served as a trigger for her, listing the reasons why it took her so long to be honest.<\/p>\n
because I know the impact it\u2019ll have on Jarrette. No. 2 is because I went so gung-ho lying for this man and protecting him,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n
\u201cAnd no. 3, if I\u2019m honest, because I went back for a quick little second, so I feel like I have no right to speak.\u201d<\/p>\nJones has not directly responded to Iyanna\u2019s allegations. <\/p>\n
However, on Wednesday, he did<\/em> post a seemingly pointed message to his Instagram Story, writing: <\/p>\n\u201cBeen taking the high road for quite sometime\u2026 story time soon.\u201d<\/p>\n
Last August, the former spouses confirmed they were separating.<\/p>\n\u201cAfter much thought, we\u2019re saddened to share that we have separated and will begin the process of divorcing,\u201d McNeely and Jones said in a joint statement shared to Instagram. <\/p>\n
\u201cWhile we have love for each other, our lives are going in different directions, and that\u2019s okay, Coming to this decision was far from easy and we will always wish each other the absolute best.\u201d<\/p>\n
The statement concluded:<\/p>\n
\u201cWe hope you all will give us some space as we close this chapter of our lives. Thank you to our close friends and family for loving us both through our experience. <\/p>\n
\u201cTo the Love Is Blind family and Netflix, thank you for this unforgettable opportunity and support. <\/p>\n
\u201cEach of you have brought overwhelming love and joy into our lives. This experience has taught us so much about ourselves, vulnerability and love. We don\u2019t regret a single thing!\u201d<\/p>\n
