But between <em>I Said I Love You First<\/em> and Lady Gaga\u2019s <em>MAYHEM<\/em>, March 2025 has been a fantastic time for music. As does \u201cWe\u2019re not gettin\u2019 any younger\/But your girlfriends seem to.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After concluding the song about the straying ex whom she wishes that she had \u201cnever loved\u201d in the first place, Selena sings about falling back in with a former boyfriend in \u201cOjos Tristes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We should be leery of assuming that we know exactly what every song means. Spring began on Thursday but <em>some <\/em>are calling it a contender for Song of the Summer. (That\u2019s probably premature, and I say that as a diehard Selena fan)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow I found another hand to hold,\u201d Selena Gomez sings, referring to moving on from Justin Bieber and other exes once she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2025\/02\/benny-blanco-fills-bathtub-with-nacho-cheese-as-valentines-day-surprise-for-selena-gomez-gross-or-romantic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">found Benny Blanco<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And yes, then comes \u201cSunset Blvd,\u201d which is cheesy and horny and keeps threatening to discuss Blanco\u2019s penis.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Selena Gomez, benny blanco - Sunset Blvd (Official Video)\" width=\"696\" height=\"522\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nJG5CWsne8E?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Speaking of horny lyrics, \u201cCowboy\u201d makes it clear why the album has \u201c[Explicit]\u201d in the title. The lyrics detail a lot of riding, and it\u2019s not subtle.<\/p>\n<p>In a similar vein is \u201cBluest Flame,\u201d which really picks up about halfway through. Seriously, it\u2019s like two different songs, and the second is a total bop. While she\u2019s happy to have moved on, she clearly wonders what might have been.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI Can\u2019t Get Enough\u201d is more triumphant, with Selena singing about how she and Benny Blanco are totally wrapped up in each other.<\/p>\n<p>Then, \u201cDon\u2019t Take It Personally\u201d has a beautiful melody and lyrics that seem to blend empathy with ridicule. Which is not, historically, Bieber\u2019s vibe.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps we should all keep in mind that not everything is a veiled message to an ex.
