\t\t<\/p>\n Can you imagine Friday Night Lights<\/strong><\/a><\/em> without Connie Britton<\/strong><\/a>?!<\/p>\n The 58-year-old actress starred as Tami Taylor, the wife of Kyle Chandler<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s Coach Eric Taylor, in the beloved series that ran for five seasons from 2006 to 2011.<\/p>\n In a new interview, Connie<\/strong> admitted she almost walked away from the role after her small role in the 2004 Friday Night Lights<\/em> movie.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span>\u201cIn the film there was very little for me to do, even less so by the time it came out,\u201d Connie <\/strong>told Parade<\/a><\/em>. \u201cWhatever I had done was mostly on the cutting room floor. When the TV show came around I said, \u2018No thank you.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n After appearing in the movie, Connie<\/strong> said that she wanted more than just \u201cplaying the fly-on-the-wall wife character in a football show.\u201d <\/p>\n Ultimately, writer and creator Peter Berg<\/strong> was \u201cvery persuasive\u201d in getting Connie<\/strong> to sign on for the show and gave her character a bigger role.<\/p>\n \u201c\u2019Women are important in these communities and we didn\u2019t get a chance to show that in the film and this is our opportunity to show it in the TV show,\u2019\u201d Connie<\/strong> recalled Peter<\/strong> telling her.<\/p>\n She then went on to sing her praises for Kyle<\/strong>, saying he was like \u201clightning in a bottle.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI could have never imagined that I would find this acting partner who had the same aspirations for the kind of couple that we wanted to portray and was willing to commit to that so deeply,\u201d Connie<\/strong> raved.<\/p>\n
