Loyal Jake Shane<\/strong> followers, a.k.a. \u201cPussies,\u201d are familiar with the long running gag that he is on Ozempic \u2014 and now he\u2019s revealing the impetus for the rumor.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you wanna know why I started that? I wanted to see if people would believe it,\u201d Shane, 25, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> while promoting his partnership with CeraVe. \u201cI was like, \u2018If they don\u2019t believe it, then maybe I have some work to do.\u2019 But if they believe it, then, I feel good about myself. Luckily enough, they believed it.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Shane asked his followers to spread the fictitious rumor on social media, fans took the request seriously. Some took a page out of his \u201cnyming\u201d trend, heading to the comments section to write notes like, \u201cJ.O.O.A (Jake\u2019s on Ozempic again).\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the Pussies. They really showed up from me,\u201d Shane told Us<\/em>. \u201cI said, \u2018Please start a rumor that I\u2019m on Ozempic,\u2019 and they showed up and showed out.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tOzempic has become a hot topic when it comes to weight loss \u2014 with some stars confirming they have used the drug while others denied it. Chelsea Handler admitted during a January 2023 episode of the \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d podcast that she unknowingly took the Type 2 diabetes medication, which is traditionally used to improve [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

While Shane had a feeling that his fans might appreciate the lie, he was surprised that the rumor gained as much traction as it did.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought they would think it\u2019s funny, but I didn\u2019t think it would become as big of a bit as it has been,\u201d Shane admitted.<\/p>\n

Shane skyrocketed to stardom on TikTok as @octopusslover8 in 2023 when he began creating a series of skits reenacting historical events from a Gen Z lens. Since then, he\u2019s amassed over 3.5 million followers on TikTok and catapulted into the pop culture zeitgeist with his \u201cTherapuss\u201d podcast<\/a> and Live With Jake Shane<\/em> tour.<\/p>\n

One video that resonated with fans? Shane hitting the Alo gym with Glen Powell.<\/strong> While Shane is now on the road for his tour, he\u2019s no longer able to work out with the actor \u2014 but the pair \u201ccheck in on each other every now and then.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is actually probably one of the busiest people I think I\u2019ve ever met, but I did recently just speak to him, and he\u2019s doing incredible,\u201d Shane said of Powell, 36. \u201cThe busiest man alive and doing it all.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI just did my first acting thing. It\u2019s not announced yet, but it\u2019s small, but it\u2019s really, really, really cool, and I\u2019m really excited about that. So hopefully that opens more doors. I\u2019m like really, really, hoping to get into that,\u201d Shane told Us<\/em>, gushing that Powell gives him \u201creally great\u201d advice when it comes to a career in front of the camera.<\/p>\n

Shane is also open to lacing up his dancing shoes and heading to the ballroom for a chance to win the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I\u2019d be honored if they asked me to come on Dancing With the Stars<\/em><\/a>,\u201d he said, adding that his dream partner would be Rylee Arnold<\/strong>. \u201cI just know we would be [close].\u201d<\/p>\n
