Eva Longoria<\/a> was reluctant to tell Meryl Streep that they are related.<\/p>\n

Eva Longoria did not want to tell Meryl Streep that they were cousins<\/p>\n

The 50-year-old actress discovered she was connected to the 75-year-old Hollywood great when she took part in the 2010 documentary series ‘Faces of America’, but when they bumped into each other in a green room at an awards show and a pal urged her to explain their ancestral bond, Eva declined – but quickly discovered the ‘Devil Wears Prada’ star was well aware of their connection. <\/p>\n

She said on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/a>‘: “I was at the Golden Globes or.. something backstage, in the green room.<\/p>\n

“And my friend was like, ‘There’s Meryl. Go say you’re her cousin!’ I’m like, ‘I’m not gonna go up to Meryl Streep<\/a> and say we’re cousins. It’s not gonna make any sense. I don’t know if she saw that part of the show.’<\/p>\n

“As I’m like, ‘No, I’m not gonna do it,’ I hear, ‘Cousin! Cousin!’ Longoria recounted, acting out Streep’s warm greeting. “I was like, ‘Oh, my God!'”<\/p>\n

\nAfter making a connection, the pair were quick to compliment one another.<\/p>\n

\nEva told Meryl: “Clearly you got the talent in the family.”<\/p>\n

\nThe ‘Mamma Mia’ star replied: “Clearly you got the beauty.”<\/p>\n

\nAfter telling the 50-year-old TV host about the experience, Eva quipped: “So Meryl’s Latina.”<\/p>\n

\nMeryl and Eva starred in the fourth series of the Disney+ mystery comedy-drama ‘Only Murders in the Building’ together, and the former ‘Desperate Housewives’ cast member previously shared how the acting legend introduced her to the cast – including Selena Gomez and Zach Galifianakis – and crew as her cousin during the first Zoom table reading.<\/p>\n

\nShe told DuJour in June 2024: “We actually call each other \u2018cousin’. We\u2019ll say, \u2018How are you, cousin?\u2019 and \u2018I\u2019m good, cousin.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\nBut their unexpected connection has left a lot of people confused.<\/p>\n

\nEva admitted: \u201cShe tells the story and everyone\u2019s so confused because I\u2019m the most Latina person in the industry and she\u2019s Meryl Streep.”<\/p>\n

\nThe 49-year-old actress has loved working on the show, and she admitted the whole cast and crew felt like family.<\/p>\n

\nShe revealed \u201cWe talked a lot about democracy and politics. But when you have leaders like Steve Martin and Martin Short, you\u2019re never not laughing.<\/p>\n

\n“Watching them make a lunch order is a show in itself. It\u2019s a constant roast about a sandwich, a 30-minute comedy about mustard.\u201d<\/p>\n
