TLC\u2019s new show Polyfamily<\/em> will explore the complexities of a closed polyamorous quad relationship.<\/p>\n

Polyfamily<\/em>, which will be released on Tuesday, April 29, follows two married couples, Alysia<\/strong> and Tyler<\/strong>, Sean<\/strong> and Taya<\/strong>, who have chosen to all live together as a closed quad. Although they are married, Tyler is also dating Sean\u2019s wife, Taya, while Sean is dating Tyler\u2019s wife, Alysia.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re only dating within ourselves and married within ourselves,\u201d Sean explained in Us Weekly\u2019s<\/em> exclusive clip of the trailer<\/a>. \u201cWe don\u2019t have any outside partners.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alysia noted that they never \u201cset out to live their lives like this,\u201d but it ended up working out.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe realized we could love more than one person and make our own rules as to what we want our family to look like,\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n

Prior to becoming a combined unit, Alysia and Tyler were already parents to a son and daughter. However, after coming together with Sean and Taya, the four adults have welcomed two more sons with one more baby on the way.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince the guys switch rooms every night, we don\u2019t know who the fathers of the younger boys are,\u201d Taya shared in the trailer, with Tyler noting that they don\u2019t want to find out who the biological fathers are because it could \u201ccause a lot of hurt.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sean and Taya were married for six years before coming into the quad.<\/p>\n

Taya admitted that they faced \u201cpushback\u201d from their family and friends after telling them about their polyamorous relationship with Tyler and Alysia.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is true that it wasn\u2019t always easy \u2014 it took me a while to admit I had feelings for someone else \u2014 and we definitely do get jealous sometimes,\u201d she told Today<\/em><\/a> in January 2023. \u201cBut now it\u2019s so natural to us all and I feel so grateful to have multiple partners to raise children with. Why wouldn\u2019t you want more love and support and more hands around? It\u2019s a messy, hectic, crazy, wonderful life and I can\u2019t think of anything else we could ever want.\u201d<\/p>\n

After 11 years together, Tyler and Alysia chose to enter into a closed quad with Sean and Taya. The couple were already parents with a son and a daughter prior to meeting the other pair.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur kids already knew we were dating Sean and Taya,\u201d Tyler told Today<\/em> in a January 2023 interview. \u201cWe told them, \u2018You know, Mom has a boyfriend and Dad had a girlfriend and we\u2019re going to move in together, and we\u2019re all going to be a big family and they\u2019re going to help parent you, so we\u2019re going to need you to treat them like you treat us \u2014 like parents.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although she is happy with her life, Alysia does admit she sometimes gets \u201cjealous\u201d over Taya and Tyler\u2019s romance because \u201cit almost looks like they\u2019re more in love than him and I.\u201d<\/p>\n
