White Lotus<\/em><\/a> season 3 star Jason Isaacs<\/strong> wants people to stop talking about his character\u2019s full-frontal moment in the show.<\/p>\n Jason, 61, who plays southern swindler Timothy Ratliff this season, was surprised to find people debating whether or not the penis he flashed in episode 5 actually belonged to him or if a prosthetic was used for the scene<\/a>. However, he was more bothered by what he called a \u201cdouble standard\u201d on how women and men are treated regarding nude scenes in film.<\/p>\n \u201cA lot of people are debating it. It\u2019s all over the internet,\u201d Jason said during an interview with CBS Mornings<\/em><\/a> on March 14. \u201cAnd it\u2019s interesting that there\u2019s a double standard for men, but when women are naked, no one would dream of talking to her about her genitalia or her nipples or any of those things.\u201d<\/p>\n When CBS Mornings<\/em> hosts Gayle King<\/strong>, Tony Dokoupil<\/strong> and Vladimir Duthiers<\/strong> prodded the Harry Potter<\/em> star and jokingly accused him of dodging the question of whether the appendage was a prosthetic, he replied, \u201cIt is a dodge because I don\u2019t think people really want to know how the sausage is made.\u201d<\/p>\n After host Gayle, 70, seemed to successfully shift the topic of discussion away from genitalia, her costar Tony, 44, circled back around to it once again.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat is your obsession?\u201d Jason asked. \u201cMike White<\/strong> [the show\u2019s creator] is a brilliant writer. It\u2019s the best series on television for a long time. And what is the obsession with penises? It\u2019s an odd thing.\u201d<\/p>\n Some fans rallied around The OA<\/em> alum in the comments section of the video, and some felt that the hosts\u2019 questions were \u201cutterly ridiculous and the very definition of cringeworthy.\u201d<\/p>\n Others felt as though Jason was missing the point.<\/p>\n \u201cThe reason people don\u2019t talk about female nudity as much isn\u2019t because women face less scrutiny and ogling about their bodies \u2014it\u2019s because female nudity has been so normalized that it\u2019s expected,\u201d one person wrote. \u201cFor decades, women\u2019s bodies have been treated as objects for consumption, which is why their nudity doesn\u2019t spark the same conversation. That\u2019s not a privilege \u2014 that\u2019s misogyny in action.\u201d<\/p>\n The commenter continued, \u201cFor this actor to frame this as women \u2018having it easier\u2019 when the very thing he\u2019s complaining about is a direct result of that misogyny is genuinely unbelievable and deeply disappointing. The fact that this even needs explaining is exhausting. Please, start educating yourselves.\u201d<\/p>\n However, some of Jason\u2019s costars had previously revealed that he wore a prosthetic for the full-frontal scene.<\/p>\n \u201cThat wasn\u2019t his real penis,\u201d Sam Nivola<\/strong>, who plays Lochlan, the youngest son of Jason\u2019s character, told TV Insider<\/em><\/a> in an interview published on March 11. \u201cHe\u2019s like, \u2018It\u2019s my fake d\u2013k scene today!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Sarah Catherine Hook<\/strong>, who stars as Piper, also confirmed that Jason didn\u2019t truly bare it all in The White Lotus.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cIt was a prosthetic,\u201d she told the publication in the joint interview with Sam, 21. \u201cIt was really funny.
