The \u2018Chasing Pavements\u2019 singer, 34, was handed an Emmy for her \u2018Adele<\/a>: One Night Only\u2019 special, as well as 16 Grammys and a best original song Oscar for James Bond film theme \u2018Skyfall\u2019.<\/p>\n

But she said on James Corden<\/a>\u2019s final \u2018Carpool Karaoke\u2019 segment about the reason she won\u2019t add a Tony to the collection which would make her one of the world\u2019s few artists to be an \u2018EGOT\u2019 (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony) winner: \u201c(I\u2019ve) always had the \u2018EGO\u2019\u2026 (but) I would never write a musical or anything like that because I f****** hate musicals.<\/p>\n

\u201cI f****** hate musicals. I don\u2019t think I\u2019ve ever said how much I f****** hate musicals.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tony\u2019s are handed out for \u201cexcellence in live Broadway theatre\u201d and have been given to the likes of \u2018Hamilton\u2019 and \u2018The Producers\u2019, and Adele<\/a> added she \u201cabsolutely\u201d respects the art of musicals.<\/p>\n

\nBut she said: \u201cI just don\u2019t need to hear everything in f****** song all the time. I also think the EGO suits me better.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nAdele also tearfully told during the \u2018Carpool\u2019 segment\u2019 how outgoing \u2018The Late Late Show\u2019 host James, 44, helped her through the fallout from her divorce.<\/p>\n

\nShe finalised her split from charity boss Simon Konecki, 49, in March 2021, and said James\u2019 most impactful help came when she went on a family holiday with him, his wife Julia Carey, 43, their three children, and the son she had with Simon, 10-year-old Angelo. <\/p>\n

\nShe said about how a verse in her song \u2018I Drink Wine\u2019 was inspired by the presenter\u2019s help: \u201c(It) was inspired by a conversation that you and I had, and it was the 4th of January, 2020 or something, and we’d been on vacation together with the kids… and we were on our way home and my mood had changed and it was like the first year that I felt like I had to hold myself accountable, for just being an adult, whereas the year before that I left Simon, you and Jules and the kids were so integral in looking after me and Angelo.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nGetting tearful, Adele \u2013 who is now dating 41-year-old sports agent Rich Paul \u2013 added: \u201cYou used to do it with humour as well, you used to be like, \u2018Good luck with that one!\u2019 with any sort of thing that I was pursuing, and you were always so, you were like an adult with me, you and Julia would always give me this advice.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
