\t\t<\/p>\n Iggy Azalea<\/strong><\/a> is very publicly slamming her former record company, Universal Music Group.<\/p>\n On Saturday (March 15), the 34-year-old \u201cFancy\u201d rapper took to X<\/a>, formerly known as Twitter, to allege that the company owes her \u201cmillions of dollars,\u201d claiming that they never paid her royalties for her singles.<\/p>\n \u201cCrazy how in my entire career I was never paid a single royalty by universal music for anything outside of the USA,\u201d Iggy<\/strong> started. <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span>\u201cThey owe me millions of dollars in back pay, that they technically stole from me, as per my contract I am due payment,\u201d she continued. \u201cThe amount owed is in the 8 figure range. Last week they tried to respond to my lawyer and offer me a settlement of 18k. I\u2019m told this is a normal response from their lawyers and after appearing in court they end up paying millions as they\u2019re supposed to.\u201d<\/p>\n Iggy<\/strong> went on, \u201cThankfully I\u2019m well off and can and will pursue this issue until they pay me what they owe. But I\u2019d like to publicly say that I think universal music are criminals who actively take advantage of ALL of their artists in perpetuity for their own gain. They are the scummiest company and they do this to SO MANY artists who unfortunately can\u2019t afford to fight for what they\u2019re owed thus they get away with this behavior.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cUniversal music really needs to do better in their treatment of the artists who quite literally earn them millions via intellectual property they had zero part in creating. Yuck,\u201d Iggy <\/strong>concluded. <\/p>\n Iggy<\/strong> first signed with Island Records, a label owned by Universal back in 2017 and announced that her contract ended the following year.
