Rachel Zegler<\/a> will make her West End debut in ‘Evita’.<\/p>\n

Rachel Zegler will play Eva Per in Evita this summer in London’s West End<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old actress has been cast as Eva Per in Tim Rice<\/a> and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit show.<\/p>\n

From June 14 through until September 6, she will grace the iconic London Palladium stage to play the Argentinian political leader, activist, and actress, who was the second wife of late President Juan Peron.<\/p>\n

Hailing the opportunity as an “honour”, Rachel told Deadline: “‘Evita’ has been such an important musical to me since I was a little girl when my dad and I would sing \u2018Don\u2019t Cry for Me Argentina\u2019 together on my back patio.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe opportunity to bring Jamie Lloyd\u2019s singular, visionary ideas to life onstage is an honour unlike any other. <\/p>\n

\n“The stage has always felt like home to me, and I can\u2019t wait to make my West End debut in such great company.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nThe director of the musical Jamie Lloyd said the star of the soon-to-be-released Disney live-action ‘Snow White’ flick will \u201cblow the roof off\u201d the 2,286-seater venue as she shows off her “phenomenal talent\u201d.<\/p>\n

\nHe told the outlet: “This is going to be an exciting Eva for a whole new generation.<\/p>\n

\n“I\u2019ve heard Rachel sing some of the score \u2013 she\u2019s going to blow the roof off the London Palladium.”<\/p>\n

\nLloyd said he was “struck by\u201d the \u2018West Side Story\u2019 star\u2019s \u201cincredible passion for this show\u201d.<\/p>\n

\nHer signing follows her Broadway debut alongside ‘Heartstopper’ actor Kit Connor in Shakespeare\u2018s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ in October 2024.<\/p>\n
