During B-Rabbit\u2019s verses, he claims Papa Doc\u2019s real name is Clarence, he went to a private school and that his parents are still married. According to Mackie, some of the shots were toward him personally, and had \u201cnothing to do\u201d with his character.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cSo we talk for, like, two hours, chilling. I go to the casino. The next day, we\u2019re shooting the battle scene, and that\u2019s why I\u2019m standing there like, \u2018You\u2019re talking about me. The track, which also features fellow Michigan rappers Big Sean and BabyTron, was released on Tuesday, July 2, and is the second single off the legendary [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cYou\u2019re an a\u2014\u2014, Eminem!\u201d he joked. \u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018I\u2019m gonna fight this mother f\u2014\u2014\u2014!\u2019 I\u2019m like, \u2018Yes my parents are still married!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><em>8 Mile<\/em> marked both Mackie and Eminem\u2019s feature film debuts. The Marvel star previously opened up about shooting the movie during a 2021 episode of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=tgCxlQUajrI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>The Rich Eisen Show<\/em><\/a>, claiming that Eminem originally promised his raps would only include \u201ccharacter stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-caption \">\n<div class=\"ratio-based-placeholder\" style=\"padding-bottom:150.2%;\"><\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span class=\"credit\">Aaron J. Thornton\/Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p3\">\u201cThere was this one day, we were sitting on the set and Eminem comes over and he\u2019s like \u2018What\u2019s up man, I was reading a script and there is no reason for me not to like you, you are cool dude, I like you,\u2019\u201d Mackie recalled. \u201cAnd then I said, \u2018I like you too,\u2019 and then he was like, \u2018Cool, so you don\u2019t mind if I add some stuff in the script about you?\u2019 I was like, \u2018About me or the character?\u2019 He\u2019s like \u2018No, no just some character stuff\u2019. I\u2019m like, \u2018Yeah no problem.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The actor claimed, \u201cSo before the entire <em>8 Mile<\/em> final battle, he googles me and learns about me and all that stuff he basically makes fun of me as Papa Doc.\u201d.
