Former En Vogue singer Dawn Robinson<\/strong> has fallen on hard times.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor the past three \u2014 almost three years, I have been living in my car,\u201d Robinson, 58, said in a YouTube video<\/a> uploaded on Tuesday, March 11. \u201cI said it. Oh my God.\u201d<\/p>\n

Robinson explained that in 2020 she was living with her parents in Las Vegas<\/a>. She claimed that after experiencing some tension with her mother, she decided to leave the home.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t deal with this. I respect her too much. I didn\u2019t understand it. I still don\u2019t and it hurt me,\u201d she reflected on her decision to leave her parents\u2019 house. \u201cI was just trying to figure it out but I couldn\u2019t \u2026 you can\u2019t read someone else\u2019s mind and you can\u2019t figure them out.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tDonna D\u2019Errico is looking back on the more challenging moments of her life before she found success on Baywatch. \u201cI was homeless for a while. I was homeless for about three months, way in the beginning before Baywatch,\u201d D\u2019Errico, 56, exclusively told Us Weekly while attending the Los Angeles Mission\u2019s annual Christmas celebration. When Robinson moved out, she was sleeping in her car<\/a> for \u201cabout a month in Vegas.\u201d Robinson\u2019s manager at the time encouraged her to come back to Los Angeles where he lived. As the temperatures in Las Vegas started to increase, she decided to go back since she \u201cloved\u201d living in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

Robinson then claimed that her former manager offered to let Robinson stay with him until she got back on her feet. However, both he and Robinson had dogs and there wasn\u2019t enough space in his place for two people and two canines. As a result, the manager volunteered to get her a hotel where she ended up staying for \u201ceight months\u201d<\/p>\n

While Robinson looked for a place to live, she said the manager offered to help her and attend listings with her \u2014 but didn\u2019t follow through. When she asked him for his thoughts, she said he allegedly found something wrong with each housing option.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m trying to make this easier on you because financially I know it\u2019s got to be hard,\u201d she said she told her former manager in the video. \u201cYou\u2019re paying rent and you\u2019re paying my hotel.\u201d<\/p>\n

After finding no success on the home front, Robinson said she decided to research car life and was impressed with the lifestyle.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a whole community of people who live in their cars and a whole community of people who live in their RVs and a whole community of people who live in their vans,\u201d she reflected. \u201cAnd I loved what I was seeing. I just thought, \u2018Wow, these people. I could do this, I think.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Robinson left the hotel for good in 2022 and took her car up to Malibu. While she said she found the first night to be \u201cscary,\u201d Robinson had no regrets about her decision and she ended up getting comfortable as she learned the ins and outs of car life, including how to cover her windows and being selective of the information she shared with others around her.<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt free,\u201d she shared. \u201cThat was a sense of freedom that I had. I was so free.\u201d<\/p>\n

Robinson claimed that many people encouraged her not to be so candid about her current living situation, fearing it would lead to public judgment. For Robinson, she said she wasn\u2019t worried about others\u2019 perception of her lifestyle.<\/p>\n

\u201cNobody has stepped or walked five steps in my stilettos,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s real and it\u2019s OK. Part of being human is to be vulnerable.\u201d<\/p>\n
