Wendy Williams’ guardian has fired back<\/p>\n
The 60-year-old star – who fronted her eponymous talk show from 2008 until 2022 before Sherri Shepherd took over her slot – is battling to end her court-ordered guardianship, and has claimed in an affidavit that she has “regained [the] capacity” to function without her legal guardian while complaining about her treatment in her New York City assisted living facility.<\/p>\n
However, an attorney for Morrisey told TMZ in a letter that she is getting “excellent medical care”, while the facility has a “spa, a workout room, excellent food, a dining room, and outside terraces”.<\/p>\n
The lawyer added: “False statements about Ms. Williams, her condition, and the Guardianship harm Ms. Williams and her interests, and undermine protection created by the Court for her health and welfare.”<\/p>\n
Wendy has insisted she is often denied access to some of those perks because she can’t leave the fifth floor memory unit without permission.<\/p>\n
\nShe was hospitalised earlier this week amid concerns for her wellbeing but phoned into Fox5 on Tuesday (11.03.25) with her friend to give a positive update after mental competency evaluations.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking on ‘Good Day New York’, she said: “I passed with flying colours! Gina can elaborate on everything, and I\u2019ll just cosign.”<\/p>\n
\nGina explained that Wendy has been deemed as “not incapacitated”<\/p>\n
\nShe added: “She had those tests, she\u2019s been deemed she is not incapacitated!”<\/p>\n
\nHost Rosanna Scotto asked Wendy: “The court says they were going to do some testing on you. Did you not really trust their testing and you wanted somebody independent to do it for you?”<\/p>\n
\nWendy replied: “Absolutely. I wanted independently tested. And, and that is what I want and that is what I got.”<\/p>\n
\nGina then explained that the former DJ can now take this news to a judge in a bid to reverse her conservatorship.<\/p>\n
\nWendy then insisted her “number one” priority is now getting herself out of the conservatorship, which she was put into after Wells Fargo, her bank, claimed she was a victim of undue influence and financial exploitation. <\/p>\n
\nPage Six reported Wendy was in her fifth-story room at a New York City assisted living facility on Monday (10.03.25) when she tossed a handwritten note out of the window to paparazzi. <\/p>\n
\nThe message read: “Help! Wendy!!” <\/p>\n
\nPolice arrived at around 11.15am for a wellness check on the broadcaster, and photos showed her wearing a T-shirt, black leggings and a long sweater as she left the facility looking sombre. <\/p>\n
\nOfficers assisted her as she climbed into the ambulance.<\/p>\n
