Millie Bobby Brown<\/strong><\/a> revealed she enlisted her Stranger Thing<\/em>s father figure Matthew Modine<\/strong> to officiate her May 2024 wedding<\/a> to Jake Bongiovi<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe second Jake proposed I said, \u2018I know who needs to marry us. It\u2019s my papa,’\u201d Millie, 21, told Jimmy Fallon<\/strong> during a Tuesday, March 11, appearance on The Tonight Show<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Matthew, 65, has played Dr. Martin Brenner, director of Hawkins National Lab, on the Netflix series ever since the show premiered in 2016. He and Millie have developed a close offscreen bond.<\/p>\n

Millie joked, \u201cI think he thought when I called him he was like, \u2018OK, sure.\u2019 And then I sent him the invite and I was like, \u2018You\u2019re still officiating\u2019 eight months later, he\u2019s like, \u2018Oh, you really wanted me to do that?’\u201d<\/p>\n

The Electric State<\/em> actress brought along a photo<\/a> of Matthew standing in between herself and Jake, 22, during their wedding. The model was seen reciting his vows to Millie from a piece of paper as she gazed at him adoringly while Matthew looked on smiling.<\/p>\n

The England native looked stunning in a white gown with a fitted bodice and lace straps along with a full skirt. Millie wore her hair in an updo for her wedding, with a long veil atop her head.<\/p>\n

The trio stood outside under a large arch dripping with white roses and other flowers, which took place at Villa Cetinale in Italy\u2019s Tuscany region.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hate to be that person, but it was perfect,\u201d the Enola Holmes<\/em> star gushed about her wedding. \u201cYou put so much pressure on if it\u2019s going to be good.\u201d<\/p>\n

At first, Millie was a bit of a bridezilla, revealing, \u201cWhen I turned up, I was directing the whole thing, cause that\u2019s my nature.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen it came down to me walking down the aisle, I was like, \u2018Oh this is real.\u2019 And when I went down the aisle, everything became so real and pure and nothing about that was like a production,\u201d she continued. \u201cIt felt so beautiful and was the most meaningful thing I\u2019ve ever done in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Millie revealed how she was almost seen in her custom-made Galia Lahav wedding gown<\/a> prior to her ceremony but managed to throw off a paparazzo waiting outside the dress salon when she arrived in New York City for her final dress fitting.<\/p>\n

Because of a \u201cbig glass window\u201d in front of the store facing the street, \u201cI thought she could see through it,\u201d Millie told Jimmy, 50.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018Oh my gosh, she knows what my wedding dress looks like, and then Jake\u2019s gonna see it\u2019 and I was so terrified,\u201d the Florence by Mills founder explained. \u201cSo I thought, I\u2019m going to find a dress that\u2019s the complete opposite.\u201d<\/p>\n

Millie ended up finding a dress in the shop that was \u201cbedazzled with gloves,\u201d and totally the opposite of something she would have chosen.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to walk out and I\u2019m going to start fake crying, pretending that I found the gown. And she got the whole thing,\u201d the star explained while sharing the video of her walking towards a mirror and appearing to break down in tears of joy over the dress she was wearing. \u201cAnd it sold. It definitely wasn\u2019t [her wedding gown] and I tricked you,\u201d Millie proudly proclaimed.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
