Gigi Hadid<\/b><\/a> made a rare comment about her coparenting dynamic with ex <\/span>Zayn Malik<\/b><\/a> and shared that their main focus is their daughter.<\/p>\n \u201cZayn and I do our custody schedules months in advance,\u201d Gigi, 29, told Vogue<\/em><\/a> in an interview published on Tuesday, March 11. \u201cThat doesn\u2019t mean that it doesn\u2019t change here and there, but we help each other out and have each other\u2019s backs.\u201d<\/p>\n Gigi first confirmed she was expecting a child with Zayn, 32, during an interview with Jimmy Fallon<\/strong> in April 2020. The former couple later welcomed their daughter, Khai<\/a>, in September 2020.<\/p>\n While speaking to Vogue<\/em>, Gigi explained that she and Zayn have come to a point in their relationship that\u2019s full of \u201clove and a feeling of camaraderie.\u201d<\/p>\n Not only did she share an update about where she stands with Zayn, while Gigi also opened up about accepting the highs and lows of coparenting<\/a> in the spotlight.<\/p>\n \u201cThere is the hard part of the world knowing this much, and thinking they know everything,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd at the end of the day, we\u2019re not interested in giving everyone our whole story. What we are interested in is raising our daughter together, with so much respect for each other and not just as coparents, but what we\u2019ve been through together.\u201d<\/p>\n Gigi and Zayn \u2013 who began their on and off relationship in 2015 \u2013 called it quits in October 2021 following an alleged altercation between Zayn and Gigi\u2019s mother, Yolanda Hadid<\/strong>, in which he allegedly shoved her during a verbal argument. The former One Direction member denied accusations of striking Yolanda, and he pleaded no contest to four counts of summary harassment.<\/p>\n In October 2024, an insider exclusively told Life & Style<\/em> that Gigi had forgiven Zayn<\/a> since their nasty split.<\/p>\n \u201cThey obviously went through a horrible breakup, but they\u2019ve worked through things for the sake of their daughter and are getting along really well again,\u201d the source said about the former couple. \u201cZayn has really mellowed out. He\u2019s done so much growing up and is in a much better place now, mentally and emotionally. It\u2019s such a relief for everyone in his life, especially Gigi.\u201d<\/p>\n The insider added that Gigi will \u201calways have a special place in her heart for\u201d Zayn and she \u201chas totally forgiven him for what he put her through.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cShe\u2019s really impressed with all the work he\u2019s done on himself and raves about what a great daddy he is to Khai,\u201d the source shared.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Zayn previously discussed the alleged incident with Yolanda while appearing on a July 2023 episode of the \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d<\/span><\/a> podcast. \u201c<\/span>I don\u2019t tend to get involved when people say things online<\/span><\/a>, whether it\u2019s got something to do with me or whether it doesn\u2019t. Because for me, my most valuable thing that I have in life is time, and that takes so much time,\u201d he told host <\/span>Alex Cooper<\/b> at the time. \u201cIn a toxic environment to, like, explain yourself to people and justify this.
