Scarlett Johansson<\/strong><\/a> is finally sharing her reaction to that<\/em> joke on Saturday Night Live<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Jurassic World Rebirth<\/em><\/a> actress, 40, was the punchline of a crude joke<\/a> between her husband, Colin Jost<\/strong><\/a>, and his \u201cWeekend Update\u201d cohost, Michael Che<\/strong>, during their annual joke swap in December 2024. \u201cCostco has removed the roast beef sandwich from its menu. I\u2019ve been eating roast beef every night since my wife had the kid,\u201d Jost read out a joke written for him by Che. Johansson, who happened to be backstage, was shown on camera and appeared shocked by the joke.<\/p>\n

In a cover interview with InStyle<\/em><\/a> published Tuesday, March 11, Johansson said, \u201cIt was so vulgar. I just can\u2019t believe that they went there. I was like \u2014 it was so gross. It was really gross. And, like, old-school gross.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite her shock, Johansson took the quip in her stride. \u201cMy experience of it was so funny,\u201d she noted to the outlet, explaining that she was given a heads-up that Che had written a joke about her for Jost to perform.<\/p>\n

The Golden Globe nominee and the Saturday Night Live star were first spotted together in May 2017 at an afterparty celebrating the NBC variety show\u2019s season 42 finale. One year later, he called Johansson his \u201cgirlfriend\u201d during a \u201cWeekend Update\u201d segment on SNL. [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Johansson continued, \u201cI was like, \u2018I mean, it\u2019s a vagina joke, how bad could it be?\u2019 And then as soon as the Costco photo came up, I was like, \u2018No! No, Michael!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fact that it took on a full To Catch a Predator<\/em>-style reveal or whatever, that was so intense,\u201d Johansson said. \u201cAll of a sudden, it was like a whole bunch of people holding up lights, and a guy with a video camera. They were waiting for me to react. I felt insane. I was like, \u2018I think I\u2019m going to faint.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Johansson, she and Jost, 42, were still in shock when they got into bed at 4 a.m. after the show. \u201cI was like, \u2018My nerves are shot.\u2019 And Colin said, \u2018Me too,\u2019\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Jost previously admitted that his wife was \u201cgenuinely so shocked\u201d<\/a> by the risqu\u00e9 joke.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was, obviously, surprised by everything, but they gave her a heads-up,\u201d Jost said during a January 20 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon<\/em>. \u201cThey were like, \u2018Hey, would you be OK if Michael made a little, like, kind of vagina joke at some point?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Johansson was \u201copen to it,\u201d according to her husband. However, the joke was far from what either of them expected.<\/p>\n
