Sharon Stone<\/strong><\/a> weighed in on Kim Kardashian<\/strong><\/a> joining the cast of American Horror Story<\/em><\/a> after Patti LuPone<\/strong><\/a> slammed the reality star\u2019s career move.<\/p>\n The Basic Instinct<\/em> actress, 65, shared her opinion on the matter while commenting on Access Hollywood\u2019s Instagram post <\/a>about LuPone, 74, taking issue with the casting decision.<\/p>\n \u201cWell \u2026 you know \u2026 acting \ud83c\udfad. It may not be brain surgery but we do treasure our art. We studied, we suffered, we do suffer for it. Ten thousand hours; it\u2019s a thing,\u201d Stone wrote in the comments section, referencing the idea that 10,000 hours of practice amounts to success in a given field, popularized by Malcolm Gladwell\u2019<\/strong>s 2008 book, Outliers<\/em>.<\/p>\n The remarks came two days after LuPone \u2014 who has portrayed both Joan Ramsey and Kathy Pizazz on AHS<\/em> \u2014 slammed Kardashian, 42, during a Sunday, April 23, appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen<\/em>.<\/p>\n While playing a game of \u201cDo! They! Give a Damn?!,\u201d host Andy Cohen<\/strong><\/a> asked whether the Tony winner cared about the SKIMS mogul joining the horror anthology series. She replied through gritted teeth<\/a>, \u201cYes, I do.\u201d The television producer, 54, then asked, \u201cYou don\u2019t like it, do you?\u201d The Summer of Sam<\/em> actress responded, \u201cNo, I don\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n LuPone explained that she felt the Hulu personality was taking a role away from seasoned actors by accepting the role. \u201cExcuse me, Kim. What are you doing with your life?\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Ryan Murphy<\/strong><\/a>, who cocreated the FX series, revealed Kardashian\u2019s involvement in season 12<\/a> via Instagram earlier this month.<\/p>\n \u201cKim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS<\/em> family<\/a>,\u201d he told The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> <\/a>in a statement.<\/p>\n The Kardashians<\/em><\/a> star, for her part, is looking forward to making her AHS<\/em> debut.<\/p>\n \u201cKim is really excited for such an amazing opportunity to be cast in AHS<\/em>,\u201d a source exclusively told Us<\/em> earlier this month. \u201cIt really is an honor particularly because she\u2019s working alongside some of the most talented people in one of the most iconic franchises. She was a bit nervous<\/a> to take on such an important project, [but] she knew it was something she couldn\u2019t pass up.\u201d<\/p>\n The insider added that the KKW Beauty founder \u201ccan\u2019t wait\u201d for people to see her take on this new challenge. \u201cOf course, she\u2019s acted before, but this feels next-level,\u201d the source explained.<\/p>\n The California native\u2019s past television experience includes appearances on shows such as How I Met Your Mother<\/em>, Last Man Standing<\/em>, and Drop Dead Diva<\/em>. In 2008, she acted in the parody film Disaster Movie<\/em>.<\/p>\n Kardashian is no stranger to critics slamming her professional endeavors. In April 2019, she opened up about being told to \u201cstay in her lane\u201d rather than pursue a career in law.<\/p>\n \u201cI want people to understand that there is nothing that should limit your pursuit of your dreams, and the accomplishment of new goals.
