Naya Rivera<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s son, Josey, had an emotional reaction to watching 2011\u2019s Glee: The 3D Concert Movie <\/i><\/a>several years after her tragic death at 33.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe sat there and he watched the whole movie, and you could see his eyes welling up a little bit,\u201d Rivera\u2019s ex-husband, Ryan Dorsey<\/strong><\/a>, told People <\/i><\/a>in an interview published on Sunday, March 9. \u201cHe\u2019s a strong boy, and he has a lot of content and episodes. His mom will live forever. I think that\u2019s a silver lining of this terrible situation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dorsey, 41, and Rivera, who was best known for her role as Santana Lopez on Glee<\/i>, were married from 2014 to 2018. Two years after the actors divorced, Rivera died by drowning in July 2020.<\/p>\n

Dorsey now raises Josey as a single parent<\/a> and struggles to rewatch any of Rivera\u2019s past roles himself.<\/p>\n

Rivera died in July 2020 while on a boat with her son, Josey, who was then 4. According to reports, Rivera and Josey, now 9, had rented the boat and were [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cPictures are hard enough,\u201d Dorsey told the outlet. \u201cI can\u2019t just sit there and watch her sing. It\u2019s hard for me. So many songs make me think about her, like Amy Winehouse<\/strong>\u2018s \u2018Valerie,\u2019 which she sang on Glee<\/i>, and \u2018Sunflower\u2019 by [Post Malone<\/strong> and Swae Lee<\/strong>] because I always used to get her sunflowers on Sundays. I can just see Josey in the back seat bobbing his head and singing that song.\u201d<\/p>\n

Looking back on Rivera\u2019s memories further stirs up mixed emotions for Dorsey.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes they\u2019re happy reminders but a lot of times, even if it\u2019s happy, the reality is it\u2019s a lot of what could\u2019ve been, what should\u2019ve been,\u201d he said. \u201cA lot of second-guessing everything and wondering how things might have played out if the tiniest decision we make really changes the course of events of life.\u201d<\/p>\n
