Just like her husband, Craig Melvin<\/strong><\/a>, Lindsay Czarniak<\/strong><\/a> got her start in local news before making it big on a major TV network.<\/p>\n

Czarniak and Melvin tied the knot in 2011, seven years before Melvin made his debut cohosting the third hour of Today<\/em>. The couple went on to welcome their son, Delano, in 2014, and their daughter, Sybil, in 2016.<\/p>\n

While Czarniak has worked for Fox Sports since 2019, she got the chance to cohost the third hour of Today<\/em> with her husband and Al Roker<\/strong> in March 2025. \u201cIt\u2019s so great to be here,\u201d she said on the NBC morning show while filling in for Dylan Dreyer<\/strong>, teasing, \u201c[Craig is] very nervous about me taking things off the rails.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the episode, Roker complimented Czarniak\u2019s all-blue outfit, which she wore in honor of National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Melvin lost his older brother, Lawrence Meadows<\/strong>, to colon cancer in 2020.<\/p>\n

\u201cCan\u2019t wait to co-host the third hour of @todayshow,\u201d she captioned an Instagram Story selfie while traveling into New York City before the show. At the end of the episode, Melvin joked that he would give his wife \u201ca ride home.\u201d<\/p>\n

Czarniak was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and raised in northern Virginia. She played field hockey and lacrosse in high school before graduating from James Madison University in 2000 with a degree in journalism.<\/p>\n

Czarniak and Melvin met in 2008 while working together at local news station WRC in Washington, D.C. \u201cI didn\u2019t know him. He didn\u2019t make the first move on the first day, but I slid in and we met during a commercial break,\u201d she recalled during a November 2021 episode of Today<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a 2011 interview with The Washington Post<\/em><\/a>, Czarniak revealed that she shared a kiss with Melvin in her apartment following a charity gala one month after they met. \u201cI think for a long time the work factor was more of an issue for me than it should have been because A., I didn\u2019t realize what the possibility [of the relationship] was, and B., I had not been in that position before,\u201d she told the outlet. \u201cI didn\u2019t want to screw anything up.\u201d<\/p>\n

The two officially began pursuing their romance shortly after.<\/p>\n

Czarniak met Melvin upon returning from an assignment covering the 2008 Beijing Olympics for WRC. She followed up her role as a sports journalist for WRC by joining ESPN. She appeared on shows such as SportsCenter<\/em>, SportsNation<\/em> and NASCAR Now<\/em>, becoming the first woman to host the network\u2019s coverage of the Indianapolis 500 on ABC.<\/p>\n

Czarniak has worked for Fox Sports since 2019, covering NFL and NASCAR sporting events.<\/p>\n
