Jason Tartick<\/b><\/a> revealed he\u2019s adopted a dog of his own six months after his ex <\/span>Kaitlyn Bristowe<\/b><\/a> announced that they stopped sharing custody of their golden retrievers Ramen and Pinot.<\/p>\n \u201cMy new best buddy needs a name! I have a few favorites for him, but before I decide, I\u2019d love to hear your ideas,\u201d Jason, 36, wrote alongside photos of him and his new puppy shared via Instagram<\/a> on Wednesday, March 5. \u201cIronically, the day I chose to volunteer at the rescue was the same day they picked him up from the local shelter. The connection was instant. The rescue named him \u2018Rango,\u2019 which I like, but I\u2019m considering something different. Let me know what names you think would work for him!\u201d<\/p>\n Not only did Jason post adorable photos of his new pet on his personal page, but Wags & Walks Rescue Nashville<\/a> \u2013 where he adopted the dog \u2013 also collaborated on a heartwarming video<\/a> of him adopting the pet.<\/p>\n \u201cNot sure who rescued who, but we got each other! Thank you @wagsandwalksnashville,\u201d the former reality star wrote alongside the clip, which showed him signing adoption paperwork and embracing the sweet pup.<\/p>\n Jason welcomed the dog into his home just six months after Kaitlyn, 39, revealed they stopped sharing custody of Ramen and Pinot. The former couple called off their engagement<\/a> in August 2023.<\/p>\n \u201cAfter sharing the news with family and close friends first, and taking the time to properly process it ourselves, we are saddened with heavy hearts to share that we have decided to end our engagement<\/a>,\u201d the former couple said in a joint statement at the time. \u201cWe are thankful for all of you who gave us the time and space to process this life altering decision as there are many emotions and changes to navigate.\u201d<\/p>\n The duo initially planned to share custody of the pets they shared during their relationship<\/a>, though Kaitlyn explained the arrangement eventually became too difficult.<\/p>\n \u201cIf you listen to this podcast or follow me at all, you know how important Ramen and Pinot are to me,\u201d Kaitlyn told listeners during a September 2024 episode of her \u201cOff the Vine\u201d podcast. \u201cThey are legitimately the light of my life. It kills me to leave them.\u201d<\/p>\n She went on to note that the golden retrievers weren\u2019t fans of being passed off between her and Jason\u2019s homes.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat I realized in sharing custody with the dogs is that they get very scared and very uncomfortable and very anxious not knowing where they\u2019re going and when they\u2019re coming back,\u201d the former Bachelorette<\/em> leading lady continued. \u201cThis is not personal to anybody. It happened when they are at one house, it happened when they are at my house. They get scared to leave. I just notice really big shifts in them with anxiousness and it was breaking my whole heart.\u201d<\/p>\n Kaitlyn explained that they decided that she would permanently keep the pets in her care, though she emphasized that Jason is always welcome to visit<\/a> and have relationships with the dogs.<\/p>\n \u201cI would never keep them from somebody,\u201d she said. \u201cSo as much as I say, \u2018I am no longer willing to coparent because I am doing what\u2019s best for the dogs.\u2019 I just want to make it clear that he is more than welcome to see them if he is in town for the weekend, or wants to take them for a walk.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
