Sorry, Peaky Blinders<\/em> fans, it looks like Finn Cole<\/strong> will not be reprising his role as Michael Gray in the upcoming movie.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so excited to watch it. I\u2019m so proud of that show and all the people involved,\u201d Cole, 29, told Us Weekly<\/em> exclusively late last month at the NYC premiere of his latest film Last Breath<\/em><\/a>. \u201cThey\u2019re absolutely awesome and I can\u2019t wait for the movie. It\u2019s going to be amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cole made his Peaky Blinders<\/em> debut during the show\u2019s second season in 2014 as the seemingly unassuming son of Polly Gray (played by the late Helen McRory<\/strong>). However, as the series goes on, he constantly butts heads with Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy<\/strong>). When Polly is killed by the IRA, Michael promises to exact revenge against Tommy. In the series finale, which aired in April 2022, the two men come face to face and Tommy shoots Michael, killing him.<\/p>\n

While it seems obvious that Cole would not be appearing in the film because of his character\u2019s death, nothing is certain in Birmingham. Cole, unfortunately, did tell Us<\/em> at the Last Breath<\/em> premiere that he was unable to pay a visit to the film\u2019s set.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tPeaky Blinders was a British phenomenon long before Netflix acquired the rights to broadcast the show around the world. Starring Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby, the six-season series was famously set in Birmingham, England and took place following the events in World War I. The first season followed Tommy and his brothers \u2014 Arthur (Paul [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI missed out on that one. I was away when they were filming,\u201d the actor said. \u201cI was absolutely gutted.\u201d<\/p>\n

Netflix announced in June 2024 that Peaky Blinders<\/em> would continue with a movie that had Murphy, 48, reprising his role<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt seems like Tommy Shelby wasn\u2019t finished with me,\u201d the actor shared in a statement at the time. \u201cIt is very gratifying to be collaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders<\/em>. This is one for the fans.\u201d<\/p>\n

Original cast member Sophie Rundle<\/strong> is also set to return, reprising her role as Ada Shelby. Newcomers include Rebecca Ferguson<\/strong>, Tim Roth<\/strong>, Stephen Graham<\/strong>, Ned Dennehy<\/strong>, Packy Lee<\/strong>, Ian Peck<\/strong>, Jay Lycurgo<\/strong> and Barry Keoghan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAfter the end of the BBC\u2019s Peaky Blinders in 2022, fans still wanted more. In June 2024, Netflix confirmed that a Peaky Blinders movie would be happening with Cillian Murphy reprising his role as Tommy Shelby. \u201cIt seems like Tommy Shelby wasn\u2019t finished with me \u2026\u201d Murphy shared in a statement at the time. \u201cIt [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Plot details have yet to be revealed but Knight, the show\u2019s creator, told fans that it will be set during World War II<\/a>. Production officially began in September 2024, with Netflix already sharing photos from set.<\/p>\n

Knight told BBC Breakfast last month that the movie looks \u201cfantastic\u201d and will be \u201ca very fitting way to end this part of the Peaky<\/em> story.\u201d<\/p>\n
