Before Adrien Brody<\/strong>\u2019s acceptance speech came out of his mouth at the Oscars 2025<\/a>\u2014where he had just won best actor<\/a>\u2014something else had to come out first. That would be the piece of gum he was chewing. Luckily, his partner, designer Georgina Chapman<\/strong>, was there to help.<\/p>\n

On his way up the steps at the Dolby Theatre to collect his second best actor statuette, Brody appeared to panic about his gum. Swallow it? No; he knows that you never come back from that. Talk around it? Shan\u2019t do. Nope: he pulled it out of his mouth and tossed it right into the waiting hands<\/a> of Chapman, who dashed after Brody when he got up.<\/p>\n

Brody won the award for his work in The Brutalist<\/em>. He previously won this same category in 2003, for The Pianist<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Brody thanked Chapman and her two \u201cbeautiful children,\u201d India<\/strong> and Dash<\/strong>, in his speech. Not specifically for the gum-catching, but for welcoming him into their life. \u201cPopsy\u2019s coming home a winner!\u201d he said jubilantly.<\/p>\n
