Finn Cole<\/strong> knows the power of love firsthand \u2014 even when it\u2019s tested by extreme circumstances.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve all, if we\u2019re lucky enough, to have loved in our life,\u201d Cole, 28, exclusively shared with\u00a0Us Weekly\u00a0<\/i>at the film\u2019s New York premiere on Tuesday, February 25. \u201cIt really helps in any performance because it affects so many stories.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0Last Breath<\/i>, Cole plays real-life saturation diver Chris Lemons<\/strong>, who finds himself trapped 300 feet underwater with only minutes of oxygen left. While the film is a high-stakes survival thriller, Cole says it\u2019s the love story at its core that anchors the film.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the relationship between Chris and Morag was more representative of the struggles saturation divers have when they have to leave their families, friends, and people,\u201d Cole explained to\u00a0Us<\/i>. \u201cIt\u2019s opening up a conversation for anyone that has to work abroad and be away from the ones that they love for long periods of time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tPeaky Blinders was a British phenomenon long before Netflix acquired the rights to broadcast the show around the world. Starring Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby, the six-season series was famously set in Birmingham, England and took place following the events in World War I. The first season followed Tommy and his brothers \u2014 Arthur (Paul [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He added, \u201cMake sure you\u2019re giving love to the people that are around you because you never know what\u2019s gonna happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cole stars alongside\u00a0Woody Harrelson<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0Simu Liu<\/b>\u00a0in the film, which is based on the 2019 documentary of the same name. They play a trio of saturation divers on a routine repair expedition when an unforeseen storm leaves them fighting for survival at the bottom of the North Sea. Cole and Liu, 35, both committed to three months of intensive scuba training to prepare for the shoot.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy dad was a really keen scuba diver, but before we were born,\u201d Cole shared, explaining that his father was an avid diver before starting a family.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn holiday one year, he was like, \u2018There\u2019s an opportunity to take you diving.\u2019 So we went out with some instructors, and me and my four brothers just became obsessed. We really enjoyed it.\u201d<\/p>\n
