The 55-year-old actor, who had been in Georgia to film ‘Back in Action’, was taken to hospital last week after suffering a medical issue but he is starting to recover.<\/p>\n
A source told PEOPLE: “He’s OK, thank God. He’s still in the hospital and doctors are running tests but he’s awake and alert. They’re keeping him under observation.”<\/p>\n
And recently, his friend Martin Lawrence said Jamie is “doing better” in hospital. <\/p>\n
Speaking to ‘Extra’, he said: “I hear he’s doing better \u2026 My prayers go out for him every night and just wishing the best for him, one of the best that we got in Hollywood.<\/p>\n
\n“Not only one of the best entertainers but a good person.” <\/p>\n
\nSources have claimed that a raft of tests are still being carried out on the star to get to the bottom of what’s wrong with him.<\/p>\n
\nPeople previously reported that \u201cthe actor is still in a Georgia medical facility, having tests run following the \u2018medical complication\u2019 his daughter Corinne Foxx spoke out about last week”.<\/p>\n
\nAnother insider told ‘CNN’ Jamie is under observation by medical professionals, who are \u201cstill trying to figure out what exactly happened.”<\/p>\n
\nThe source said: \u201cThey are running tests.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nJamie was last seen on set on April 10.<\/p>\n
\nOn April 12, Corinne revealed her dad was in \u201crecovery\u201d following the scare. <\/p>\n
\nAn insider previously told People the set of Jamie\u2019s \u2018Back in Action\u2019 film was totally \u201cshut down\u201d due to the actor\u2019s absence, but they added filming resumed a day later using a stand-in for the star on set.<\/p>\n
\nCorinne said on Instagram: \u201cWe wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cLuckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWe know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nJamie has Corinne with his ex Connie Kline and his second daughter, Annalise Bishop, 14, with his former girlfriend Kristin Grannis.<\/p>\n
\nA flood of his famous friends have sent him their wishes and prayers for his recovery, with actress Kerry Washington, 46, saying she was sending \u201clove and prayers\u201d to her \u201cmovie huzbin (sic)\u201d after she portrayed his wives in \u2018Ray\u2019 and \u2018Django Unchained\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
