The fix comes after some users saw horrific and violent content despite having Instagram\u2019s \u201cSensitive Content Control\u201d enabled. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe have fixed an error that caused some users to see content in their Instagram Reels feed that should not have been recommended,\u201d a Meta spokesperson said in a statement to CNBC.\u00a0\u201cWe apologize for the mistake.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meta\u2019s policy states that it prohibits content that includes \u201cvideos depicting dismemberment, visible innards or charred bodies,\u201d and \u201csadistic remarks towards imagery depicting the suffering of humans and animals.\u201d However, users were shown videos that appeared to show dead bodies and graphic violence against humans and animals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The error comes after <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/01\/07\/meta-drops-fact-checking-and-loosens-its-content-moderation-rules\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meta announced plans<\/a> to loosen its content moderation policies to better promote free speech, a move that has been seen as the company repositioning itself for the Trump presidency.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/02\/27\/meta-fixes-error-that-exposed-instagram-users-to-graphic-and-violent-content\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Meta has fixed an error that caused some users to see a flood of graphic and violent videos in their Instagram Reels feed.
