Although the majority of the capital is coming from limited partners, Perplexity is using some of the capital it raised for the company\u2019s growth to anchor the fund. Perplexity reportedly raised <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2024\/12\/19\/perplexity-has-reportedly-closed-a-500m-funding-round\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$500 million<\/a> at a $9 billion valuation in December.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perplexity\u2019s fund is managed by general partners Kelly Graziadei and Joanna Lee Shevelenko, who in 2018 co-founded an early-stage venture firm, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.f7ventures.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">F7 Ventures<\/a>, according to PitchBook data. F7 has invested in startups like women\u2019s health company <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/podcast\/midi-is-building-a-digital-platform-for-an-oft-overlooked-area-of-womens-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Midi<\/a>. It\u2019s not clear if Graziadei and Shevelenko will continue to run F7 or if they will focus all their energies on Perplexity\u2019s venture fund.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">OpenAI also manages an investment fund known as the OpenAI Startup Fund.
