Ryan Reynolds\u2019<\/strong><\/a> Aviation gin may have been a star of wife Blake Lively\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> 2018 film A Simple Favor<\/em> \u2014 but don\u2019t expect the brand to make an appearance in the film\u2019s sequel.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s no more Aviation,\u201d director Paul Feig<\/strong> revealed to Entertainment Weekly<\/em> <\/a>in an interview published on Tuesday, February 25, before sharing that his own brand, Artingstall Gin, would instead be featured as the replacement. \u201cThis movie is all Artingstall\u2019s all the time. I\u2019m very proud of my brand. And actually, our bottle is so beautiful that it fits in. It doesn\u2019t feel like it doesn\u2019t belong. There\u2019s never a shortage of martinis in any of my movies.\u201d<\/p>\n

Feig launched Artingstall in 2020, two years after A Simple Favor<\/em> hit theaters with a scene that featured Lively\u2019s character, Emily, teaching Anna Kendrick\u2019s<\/strong> Stephanie how to make a \u201creal\u201d martini. Emily\u2019s perfect cocktail included a frozen glass, dry vermouth, a twist lemon \u2014 squeezed into the glass and dabbed around the rim \u2014 and a bottle of Reynolds\u2019 Aviation gin, kept chilled in the freezer.<\/p>\n

Shortly after the scene went viral, Feig revealed that he initially had chosen a different gin for the film before Lively suggested Aviation, sharing that it\u2019s a brand Reynolds \u201creally likes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tBlake Lively\u2019s upcoming A Simple Favor 2 hasn\u2019t been canceled amid her ongoing legal battle, according to the film\u2019s director. Paul Feig responded to online rumors on Friday, January 10, that film studio Amazon decided to shelve the project indefinitely as a result of Lively\u2019s lawsuit against her It Ends With Us costar Justin Baldoni. [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI wouldn\u2019t have done it if I didn\u2019t like the look of it on the screen, but I really thought the bottle looked fantastic,\u201d Feig told Cosmopolitan at the time. \u201cSo I, honestly, didn\u2019t even realize the level of involvement that [Ryan] had in it, but I think it\u2019s great, because it\u2019s a really good gin.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Aviation won\u2019t be making a return for Another Simple Favor<\/em><\/a>, Feig has continued to support Lively in other ways. The director has often come to her defense amid her legal battle with former It Ends With Us<\/em> costar and director Justin Baldoni.<\/strong> (Lively filed a lawsuit<\/a> against Baldoni in December 2024, citing sexual harassment and retaliation, Baldoni vehemently denied the claims, filing a $400 million countersuit against her and Reynolds for defamation.)<\/p>\n

Shortly after Lively\u2019s lawsuit made headlines, Feig took to social media to share his own experience of working with the actress, writing via X, \u201cI\u2019ve now made two movies with Blake and all I can say is she\u2019s one of the most professional, creative, collaborative, talented and kind people I\u2019ve ever worked with.\u201d<\/p>\n

The following month, Feig denied the movie was scrapped<\/a> due to the lawsuit,. In February, when an Instagram follower questioned if Another Simple Favor would ultimately be Feig\u2019s cut \u201cor Blake\u2019s cut\u201d \u2014 Baldoni has alleged that Lively \u201ctook over\u201d It Ends With Us<\/em> \u2014 Feig had no issue setting the record straight.<\/p>\n
