1923<\/em> star Julia Schlaepfer<\/strong> exclusively tells Life & Style<\/em> she hopes a spinoff could be in the future featuring her character of Alexandra Dutton, as it appears season 2 of the Paramount+ series could be the last.<\/p>\n \u201cI would love, I would play Alex for a million years if I could,\u201d Julia, 29, says of the possibility for a spinoff featuring the British royal who married Brandon Sklenar<\/strong>\u2018s Spencer Dutton.<\/p>\n \u201cWho knows what Taylor Sheridan<\/strong> has up his sleeve,\u201d she adds about the show\u2019s prolific creator and writer, who created two prequels \u2014 1883<\/em> and 1923<\/em> \u2014 from present-day\u2019s Yellowstone<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n Season 1 of 1923<\/em> saw Spencer and Alexandra fall in love and marry after meeting on an African safari. Season 2 brings the characters back to the Dutton family ranch in Montana.<\/p>\n \u201cSeason 1 we were in Africa in Malta, which was so incredible as an actor. We were filming with these animals in Africa, and so as Alex is seeing an elephant for the first time and can\u2019t believe her eyes, that was what I was going through, which is so special to get to have. We were very lucky,\u201d Julia said of the show\u2019s location shooting.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd then Malta, we had these big water tanks that we swam in for the swimming scenes, which was also so cool of an experience to get to have. And then we\u2019ve spent a good amount of time in Montana and Texas. We\u2019ve just been all over the place it\u2019s just, it\u2019s been an incredible experience,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n Julia hopes that young people today are able to see parts of themselves in Alex\u2019s character of the posh royal who changed her life by marrying the American rancher<\/p>\n \u201cI think I understood Alex\u2019s pressure that she felt to present as this perfect thing. I think a lot of young women feel that way growing up and a lot of young people in today\u2019s world, there\u2019s this kind of pressure to exude perfection,\u201d the actress explains.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd so that was something I kind of understood about her and I understood the desire to just like break free and just live spontaneously. And that was so exciting to me. It was a really fun journey and story arc for her that I think came pretty naturally to me,\u201d Julia says of playing Alex. \u201cAnd then once she was let loose in Africa with Spencer, it was so much fun to really let my impulses fly with her enjoying that time with him.<\/p>\n As for the Bellevue, Washington, native\u2019s favorite moment of season 2, she can\u2019t share \u201cbecause it\u2019s a big spoiler.\u201d But Julia says being part of 1923\u2032<\/em>s primary crew was a bonding experience.<\/p>\n \u201cJust working with the crew this season, they became like my family. We all just cared about Alex\u2019s journey so much. And so, getting to work with them every day and we all really took care of each other was like the most special part of my experience hands down,\u201d she gushes.<\/p>\n While Paramount + hasn\u2019t officially confirmed if season 2 will be the last for 1923, Brandon, 34, hinted that it wasn\u2019t meant to go past a second season.<\/p>\n \u201cThey haven\u2019t confirmed if it\u2019s stopping here at season two, but I knew before we left to shoot season one ultimately where this was going,\u201d the It Ends With Us<\/em> star told The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a> in an interview published on Sunday, February 23. \u201c[Taylor] kind of told me, not the specifics of what was going to happen, but he told me. I\u2019ve always known to some degree how it was going to wrap up at the end of season two.\u201d<\/p>\n However, Brandon added, \u201cThis story is going to continue one way or another, and I honestly don\u2019t know. But there\u2019s more Dutton story to be told for sure.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
