Hilaria Baldwin didn’t understand her pre-nup before marrying Alec Baldwin<\/p>\n

The 41-year-old yoga instructor married the actor in 2012 and they are parents to seven children together, but Hilaria has now confessed she was presented with a pre-nup before the wedding and signed it even though she didn’t fully understand it.<\/p>\n

During an episode of the couple’s new reality show ‘The Baldwins’, Alex explained he wanted an agreement in place for his second marriage following his divorce from actress Kim Basinger<\/a> in 2002. He said: “After my first marriage I said, \u2018Let\u2019s have a prenup’.”<\/p>\n

However, the paperwork left Hilaria baffled. She explained: “I just don\u2019t understand quite what a prenup is. Because you are like, \u2018After a certain number of kids it is this.\u2019 And I was like, \u2018You know what? I will just sign it. Which was probably very stupid of me back then.”<\/p>\n

She went on to add: “Now, I would read it again. I just said, \u2018I won\u2019t sign it. I don\u2019t really want to think about the end by the beginning.\u2019 And then you were like, \u2018I don\u2019t want to do it either’.”<\/p>\n

\nDuring the show, Hilaria – who was born Hillary Hayward-Thomas and raised by American parents in Boston, Massachusetts – also addressed the controversy over her Spanish accent after she was accused of faking her heritage.<\/p>\n

\nHilaria insisted the furore “hurt”, saying: “I love English, I also love Spanish, and when I mix the two it doesn’t make me inauthentic, and when I mix the two, that makes me normal. <\/p>\n

\n“I’d be lying if I said [the controversy] didn’t make me sad and it didn’t hurt and it didn’t put me in dark places. <\/p>\n

\n“But it was my family, my friends, my community who speak multiple languages, who have belonged in multiple places and realise that we are a mix of all these different things and that\u2019s going to have an impact on how we sound and an impact on how we articulate things and the words that we choose and our mannerisms. <\/p>\n

\n“That’s normal. That\u2019s called being human.”<\/p>\n
