The judges have spoken! Len Goodman<\/strong><\/a>, Carrie Ann Inaba<\/strong><\/a> and Bruno Tonioli<\/strong><\/a> have been staples on the Dancing With the Stars<\/a>\u2018<\/em> judging table since day one \u2014 but they aren\u2019t the only stars who\u2019ve weighed in on the contestants\u2019 performances.<\/p>\n Since the show\u2019s 2005 start the trio of judges have been joined by a variety of celebrities, some of which previously competed on DWTS<\/em>, to help score each routine. Unlike Tom Bergeron<\/strong><\/a> and Erin Andrews<\/strong><\/a>\u2018 shocking departures as the show\u2019s hosts<\/a> in the summer of 2020 \u2014 they were replaced by Tyra Banks<\/strong><\/a> for season 29 \u2014 the judges are used to mixing things up<\/a>.<\/p>\n Julianne Hough<\/strong><\/a> made DWTS<\/em> history in 2014 when she became the first star to permanently join the judging panel bring the total from three scorecards to four.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m so excited to be back with my Dancing with the Stars<\/em> family again on a regular basis,\u201d the Footloose<\/em> actress said in a press release ahead of season 19<\/a>. \u201cI\u2019ve always aspired to be an all-around entertainer, whether I\u2019m acting, dancing or singing, and I\u2019m thrilled for this opportunity that will allow me to continue all of those pursuits.\u201d<\/p>\n She joked: \u201cI am warming up the paddles and the sass, and I\u2019m ready to have fun in this new role.\u201d<\/p>\n Hough stepped away from the role in September 2017 after having been a dancer on the series and judge for many years. She told Us Weekly<\/em> and other reporters in August 2019 that a DWTS<\/em> return is never off the table<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cLook, never say never, because you never know what one day will be from the next,\u201d she explained at the time. \u201cBut, I owe my career to that show! I was 18 and they brought me back in two different ways<\/a>. I was a dancer, I was a judge and I\u2019m so happy for everything that\u2019s going on there.\u201d<\/p>\n While Hough was one of the very few stars to become a permanent fixture at the judges\u2019 table over the years \u2014 the second one being her brother, Derek Hough<\/strong><\/a>, who filled in for Goodman in 2020<\/a> and retained his seat in 2021 \u2014 other celebs have helped out from time to time.<\/p>\n Cher<\/strong><\/a>, Mel B<\/strong><\/a>, Nick Carter<\/strong><\/a>, Alfonso Ribeiro<\/strong><\/a> and Maksim Chmerkovskiy<\/strong><\/a> have all put on their judges\u2019 caps in the past \u2014 mainly when Goodman needed to take time out for other commitments \u2014 and they are just the tip of the iceberg.<\/p>\n After Derek was forced to skip the season 30 finale in November 2021 amid his battle with COVID-19, Julianne was called in to return to the panel.<\/p>\n \u201cJulianne is the reason I started doing ballroom!\u201d pro Jenna Johnson<\/strong><\/a> told Entertainment Tonight<\/em> ahead of the finals. \u201cSo to have her judge this finale just means the world.\u201d<\/p>\n
